Sharp Bins

Hi - I have been using B12 patches for years - but found I needed more and more to feel OK. So I went to my GP - who was unhelpful. I found an Aesthetic Practitioner who gave me a number of shots - after filling in an online form for a prescription. She has now stopped her practice for a short time - so I have managed to get some ampoules from Germany - thanks to this site.

What I want to know is, how do you dispose of your sharps bin - if you go the route of taking charge of your own health and being willing to self inject? Thanks for any advice.

It depends on your local council.Mine collect sharp bins from your doorstep when you ring up.

A small one 1ltre lasts a year .

I do have an NHS prescription bug the collection is not dependant on that .

Some chemists take them.

Some clinics .

Some hospitals.

I apply to the council to collect mine but as Nackapan said 'some chemists and hospitals' will take them.

To make the bins last a lot longer I only fill them with the needles, the plastic bits I put in the recycle bin.

often you can take the small bins (1L) to your local chemist (mine won’t take the large ones 2.5L), alternatively my local tip takes the large ones (I give to one of the gentleman on the site).

Call your local council and ask for sharps bin collection. Then keep the number for next time.

I went to the local drug addiction centre they give out sharp bins and you take them back there. They sometimes give out needles, I think. Find your nearest and give them a call and ask or email
