Hot Dog - for anyone who prefers a cool day

This small painting is called Hot Dog. An overheating old dog trundled into the pond, stood there and gulped back the pond-water, looking hot, pestered and exhausted. Just waiting to cool down.

For those of you who don't fare well in the summer heat, today must've been a real treat !

Hi Cheryclaire

Fab pic! Your talent?

I have the wood burner on as I am so cold!!!

Heat regulation yet to be re-mastered!

The detail you have captured in that old dogs face is amazing, talent indeed. I detest the heat and shut the shutters to keep the sun out and have fans going full blast.

Today was a real treat to feel cool but when I climbed into my bed my hands were so painful with the raynauds I had to put gloves on !

Strange weather indeed.

thanks Cherylclaire, Poor dog. I admit I am a meany and wish for a cooler summer as I cannot cope with hot weather! However, same with cold weather, still in fleeces and joggers, and hot water bottles at bed times. I joke 'no pleasing some people'.

Just realized your painting. Excellent 🙂

Aww Cheryl, as a dog lover that melts my heart !

As others have said, your wonderful talent has totally captured the dogs mood. I can feel his weariness yet relief from here .

Fabulous ! Thanks so much for sharing it with us all xx

Thanks, everyone. This painting continues to make me laugh - in a sympathetic way. The dog's morose face tells the entire story of it's discomfort in the heat, which made the painting so easy to do. I can't imagine the pondwater was very refreshing to drink either.
