iron infusion + b12 injection side effects

Had my iron infusion and first B12 injection yesterday and this evening I have diarrhoea. Anyone else had this side effect after?

Yes…injection on Monday afternoon, Tuesday was great with reduced symptoms and then Wednesday it all came roaring back with additional stuff, like diarrhoea. It was awful.

I ate potassium rich stuff like it was a last meal - coconut water (in tropical juice because I can’t stand the stuff plain) and bananas galore. It helped, especially with keeping the palpitations at bay.

I’m aware this probably means I need to SI as the monthly injection is not enough.

I find iron does upset my gut yes

A big dose of iron can cause diarrhoea.

A big dose of b12 can initially cause quick transit of bowel and quicker metabolism.

So I imagine pretty common especially as you've had both.

The clinic would know.

I've had eleven iron infusions and Lucky to have had no issues. But each time I have one they forewarn me if small chance of diarrhea and/or constipation amongst a few other things. I think you're OK.
