I have been guided to this forum from Thyroid Uk and I’m hoping that, with your help, I can make sense of the fatigue and weakness I have been experiencing. In October last year I experienced what I can only describe as a crash. I am normally fit and active and had a lovely summer with many trips camping with walking and watersports. Towards the end of an extended break I began feeling quite tired and a couple of weeks later was not functioning at all well. I put this down to thyroid changes and GP increased my Levothyroxine and prescribed 5mg folic acid (as a result of the red flag by Medicheck). I also began taking 1200mcg B12 oral spray, B complex (no B12 or folate), D3 with K2 spray and 3 in 1 magnesium. Initially I felt a bit better but have now slipped back so I am now wondering if I could have developed a B12 deficiency. I have a GP telephone consultation next week as I have expressed concern about B12 deficiency symptoms and would welcome advice as to the best way to tackle this. Will the supplements I have been taking skew any tests I’m offered?
Test results attached.
Thank you in advance.

A few B12 links to get you started
Two useful B12 books
"What You Need to Know About Pernicious Anaemia and Vitamin B12 Deficiency" by Martyn Hooper
Martyn Hooper is the former chair of PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society).
"Could it Be B12?: An Epidemic of Misdiagnoses" by Sally Pacholok and JJ. Stuart (US authors)
Very comprehensive with lots of case studies. There is also a paediatric version of this book "Could It Be B12? Paediatric Edition: What Every Parent Needs to Know".
Thank you for your reply Sleepbunny, I am in England. The PAS and B12info websites have been very useful and have led me to believe that I may have a problem. I began supplementing before reading the warning on this forum and the websites so am a bit worried how much this will skew any further testing. Martyn Hoopers book is also on its way.
