Hi gpw61,
Pernicious Anaemia/B12D or Autoimmune metaplastic atrophic gastritis (AMAG) a disease which originates in the gut. It has haematological (blood) and neurological (brain and spine) involvement plus every other system.
So, yes the Hydroxycobalamin or methylcobalamin is repairing the nerves, muscles of all your body and your gut. This is the ‘point of origin’. Symptoms can get worse before better when nerves start to heal. Have a read about the Enteric Nervous System. It is the gut’s own special nerves. Just a basic level. More diahorrea is common at this stage.
Hope that helps to understand. It is a process. Hope you improve soon.

Hi gpw
Narwhal is right. As odd as it seems what you are experiencing is positive. I had three months of that before my life began to become a life again.
These are called reversing out symptoms when your body is going into repair - it’s painful. But it dies get better.
Try and keep
A diary of symptoms as it’s so easy to lose perspective of your success on what is likely to be a long road of recovery.
🤗🤗🤗
the NICE guidelines state that injections should continue until there is no further improvement. So you need to continue with them on alternate days. No matter how long it takes.
It doesn't address your question, but this literature review article might be interesting to you.
