anyone have any experience with SIRVA? I am confident I am struggling with this in my left arm. It is not from B12 but from a flu shot. Pain for weeks following injection. Loss of strength and range of motion.

SIRVA
Sorry, I don’t understand SIRVA either. Different acronyms are used in different industries. For example, my friend was working on a geriatric ward and said to a member of staff, Are the COWS ok ?
An elderly woman heard this and said, Excuse me young man, I am a woman not a COW.
He apologised and explained that he worked in I.T. and C.O.W. was short for Computer On Wheels. 🙀

Obvious suggestion I guess but maybe get it checked by your doctor and/or a physiotherapist?
Hi Ctadds1,
With the mass vaccine drive due to COVID, injections were being undertaken by students. My friend, an osteopath had to have theirs as they are front line staff. Twice they experienced weakness and loss of range of motion.
Osteopaths like chiropractors and physiotherapists have fantastic knowledge of anatomy. They work with their hands, use sight and listen to the body. So, my friend found it more cumbersome to work with SIRVA.
They were called a 3rd occasion for an injection. So marked an X on their arm of where it should be administered.
Hope you are not in pain and it improves soon.
hello ctadds1, when I was given I.M. injection into top l.h.s. arm muscle it hurt for several months. I was quite concerned they had done some permanent damage. Finally wore off.
I hope your arm improves soon.
I've had it once ftom a b12 IM injection .It went on for weeks .
I actually saw a physiotherapist to get more movement in my arm.
It did resolve but avoided offering that arm for future Injections.
I'm supposing it hit a nerve ??
Bit lije frozen shoulders are described but in your arm.
Painful.
Try to kerp moving it gently.
I've heard of it a few times on here - once or twice in relation to nurse-administered B12 jabs. What a pain for you! So sorry. I hope it goes off as soon as possible.
Yes, I am. My last B12 injection at surgery was done too high, there was blood pouring down my arm so I knew something was wrong. I also had a bruise, which I never get, which lasted for a couple of weeks. Since then I have had weakness and pain, it feels sometimes like there is an elastic band inside which every so often gets twanged and is so painful. I have to move equipment at work, not always heavy, and I have to use my right hand more. As my left is still quite weak. I didn’t complain at the time as I didn’t know this was s ‘thing’!
