Health blips

I generally keep my b12 deficiency under control, although my life is greatly diminished. I have episodes when I feel awful, crave lots of sweets (which I normally dislike) and carbs, am breathless, blurred vision and feel like my nerves are on fire. I just go to bed and gradually it settles down. I have no idea what causes it-this time it happened following a urinary tract infection and a cold- but I was pretty much recovered from those.

Can I have another vitamin deficiency? I inject b12 every 3-5 days and try to take all the cofactor.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I would get full bloods done and s blood sugar level done. I get blips .

Vision goes down

Locked eye socket muscles.

Sticky eye feeling but not actually sticky.

Migraine

Headaches.

Tight head/ tinnitus

Buzzy nervy feeling in head.

Like you say anything 'on top '

Like a

cold

Not enough sleep.

Fighting something

Not enough water ect.

Things before coped with on their own.

I got breathless and shaky when iron dropped a little and ferritin dropped alot . So get ferritin added to be tested.

Sometimes no rhyme or reason.

Many thanks. Have check up booked for next week at GP's but they are not very helpful.Could I have other vit deficiencies?

Thanks so much for your reply. I find this a very bewildering problem- especially when it all falls apart.

I'm slowly coming to terms with my life being diminished. I inject EOD but this does not change the unwelcome fact that my body has changed and I have to change to take that into account. B12 deficiency/PA also collided with aging, sometimes it feels like at high speed, but that is when I go beyond my limits. And I'm constantly having to review my limits on a daily basis. If I don't my body presents it's bill. I'm slowly coming to terms with the reality that my life will never be like it was.

This can be difficult - a grieving stage. Still don't think I am entirely reconciled with that - as it feels like giving up; turning my back on the "old me".

I am finding Pascoe gives me more energy initially and a restless first night. By the final night before injection day, I'm back to an 11-hour sleep and all my gains have gone again ! At least there is a pattern finally, and I could increase my frequency if I don't get used to it. I think I'm pushing my limits a bit too far on day 1, worried that I might crash on day 2.

There are a lot worse concerns to have. Just a balance to be found, without compromise..... piece of cake, then !

Fluffy01 : I think Nackapan's right - fighting off any "additional extras" can take it's toll. Really worth looking at blood sugar levels when cravings occur.

Folate, ferritin, vitamin D and thyroid - these are the regular checks that I had for the first few years as quite erratic and difficult to stabilise even with supplements. Covid and lack of continuity (GPs leaving surgery) eventually put a stop to that , but hope I would know if I needed a check-up now. Wouldn't be confident about being able to identify exactly what I was lacking in though. Besides, best if its on record -even if supplements not supplied by NHS.
