B12 and health anxiety

Hi all,

Has anyone ever experienced health anxiety since having b12 deficiency/PA?

I feel like since I knew I was deficient, every little ache or pain it heightens my anxiety.

Thanks

Hi Jessie8 I found out (later - almost too late) that it was the (then unknown) P.A. that was causing my " health anxiety" depressions and mood swings, whilst all the while I was blaming them on everything and everybody else.

Had I known and understood what the P.A. was all about fifty years ago I think I would have coped and behaved better.

Try to stop worrying as stress is just another symptom of a B12 deficiency.

There is life after P.A, and I'm still "clivealive" aged 77.

Thanks Clive!

I know it’s just my anxiety but sometimes I feel a bit unhinged :-) like I could have a melt down at anytime.

I’m trying self help to ease the anxiety e.g running so will hopefully notice a difference soon.

Thanks again x

Good morning jessie8, I smiled when I read that you feel a bit unhinged, that was how I had begun to feel, I kept going over things as to why I had begun to feel this way, always anxious the simple things suddenly being mountains, I didn't realize this was a symptom of PA, I just thought I was slowly going mad, I am feeling less anxious these days almost back to my rational self since starting B12 injections, so I'm guessing you will feel less like your unhinged as time goes by, 😀

Anxiety is one of the symptoms of B12 deficiency . As you are treated and start to recover , it will disappear .

I had it too. I thought I was just anxious about my health but sometimes it would come over me for no reason at all. Now it's almost disappeared 3 months after B12 treatment started.

I had terrible social anxiety and was seeing a therapist trying to resolve the problem. About 6 months after I started getting my B12 shots my social anxiety disappeared. My therapist was amazed. She's started having her patients get their B12 levels checked.

Oh yes! Good old anxiety! It got A LOT better a couple of months after increasing frequency of injections. I do find it is one of the first things that come back if I go too long without an injection. Otherwise they are pretty much gone now. 2 cups of epsom salt in a 40 minute bath does wonders as well for anxiety.
