Can I get needles in England

I'm travelling to England from Canada - I will bring my B12 with me, but want to know if I can purchase needles in England without a prescription (that way I won't have to put them in my carry-on, which makes me nervous)

I get mine online from medisave .You will need a few until delivery.

To my knowledge you can't buy them from a chemist.

I've never tried.

Wow that's very useful to know -in Canada we can buy both cyanocobalamin and needles from a drug store (chemist) without a prescription, so it sounds like I should risk bringing them in my carry-on. Thank-you!

We tried getting them from the chemists, firstly the local pharmacy in the village where we lived, and where we are well known, and is generally very good. General confusion and bewilderment, and ‘nobody had ever asked before’ and they wouldn’t sell them to us.

Then we tried Boots, in the retail park on the outskirts of the nearest large town, and they also declined to sell them to us. Couldn’t or wouldn’t wasn’t exactly clear, but it seemed to be mostly wouldn’t.

Amazon only sell blunt needles. Bit weird, but it tells you something.

Medisave sent us boxes of the things, just like that, ordered over the web, easy as pie.

Medisave link is medisave.co.uk/

You will be fine putting them in hand luggage. Worst they can do is confiscate them (but they won't).

And take backup in your checked luggage for peace of mind - i guarantee you no one will touch them or bother with them.

UK customs will absolutely not care (i go all the time and have never had issues) and in Canada B12 is over the counter so security there will not care either.

You can buy syringes OK individually and some needles (might be in a box though) without question from agricultural merchants if there's one that sells animal products in your area.

Other than that I'm not sure.

They are usually on next day delivery from online sellers

Are efficient and cost effective.

Have a lovely holiday!

I suggest Medisave you can order on line before you go and have them delivered to you accommodation ready for your arrival

Medisave is based in my home town and us locals can pick up at warehouse ! So easy for us ! They are lovely people so may be worth a tel con before ordering they will also do a WhatsApp chat too

Give it a go they will help you out

Enjoy your trip safe travels 😎

A bit off topic - but yes we are lucky in Canada. I buy boxes of needles & syringes from pharmacies. We support clean needles for drug users both for safety and to save money due to health issues with shared or dirty needles, that is the reason. How many drug users using this availability I do not know.

In fact on my last pick-up I was asked for the very first time in years why I was using them.

I had a conversation with the head pharmacist, while discussing other matters, around What if I was a drug user? I was supposed to say to shoot up (in front of other customers).& what would her response have been to that? Obviously one could lie, but if the rules are for those means why force a lie?

He was happy to hear me bringing this up & clarified he is to sell to anyone and that question should not have been asked.

---------

Have a wonderful holiday, so envious. Enjoy!

I am from the US. I haven't travelled to England but I've been to netherlands and Chile twice. And flown frequently around the IS. They have never given me any hassle over my b12 or my needles. I always fly with them so I don't have to hunt any down.

Thanks, I feel better about doing it now

I am in Canada. Just flew to Europe with B12 + needles in carry on. No issues just bring your own needles much easier.
