changing from cyno to hydro

hi everyone! I shifted from cyno to hydro few days ago and the symptoms that had turned very mild got a bit more severe, like my fatigue and neck & back stiffness! Does someone has same experience? Is it the hydro or it’s me having my flare-up! Before shifted to hydro, i had my cyno EoD for less than 2 month! And I wonder injections normally work until a certain point or I have to wait until all symptomes disapear?? These ups and downs are a bit frustrating!

well I will be interested to hear about other's experience shifting from cyano to hydroxo as I would like to try it eventually;

however, early on in your treatment is not a good time to shift.

Or shift then stick with that one.

but if you are feeling good progress with one and tolerate it well, then stick with it for the 1st year.

There may be some that disagree but I say this because it takes a long time for your stores of b12 in your liver to become depleted, and thus a long time for them to get repleated.

B12 is responsible for cell generation. Our cells die and regenerate every 120 days. W/O b12, they don't regenerate as much, thus we get the neural symptoms of brain fog, pain and numbness.

When you start regular injections, this builds up the store and enables your body to start generating cells. However, about 2-3 months into my EOD or daily injections I experienced the "worse before getting better" phenomenon. My body hurt all over to the core so badly that I would pace. And the fatigue seemed to get worse.

This happens because your body is starting to regenerate the cells all at once.

I'm not sure about the muscle stiffness. That I can't tie to the cell regeneration explanation. The tightness is one of my first symptoms to return if I stop injections, but I don't recall if that occurred during the "worse before better" stage.

this worse before better stage lasted about 1.5 months for me.

thus mixing things up during this progression adds to the confusion of why something is happening. In engineering we do one thing at a time until you get to a more stable state, then try new things. This way it's easier to understand the cause... is it the change or you just need more frequent b12 shots.

On cyano, I have and still do daily shots and it's been 2 years now. This allows me to exercise, which is something I couldn't do 2 years ago.

Everyone's experience is different, so I look forward to hearing from others.

thanks for your reply. That could be one explanation for sure! but both go through a similar process in the body I would’ worry much. I wanted to shift to hydro asap as I heard it is the more natural form of b12 and more friendly with the body in the long run. I could tell the difference maybe in a week or so! Well after starting injections my neurological symptoms like nervousness, brain fog, tingling, and numbness got kind of resolved. My main issues are muscle weakness especially back pain after a short walk and fatigue which I hope improve soon as it was the first symptoms appeared in the first place! I can’t wait to work out again!! I will be happy to hear others’ opinions on this matter.
