Hallo I must have ordered Cyno instead of Hydroxocobalin My question is it ok to inject the Cyano .I am a bit apprehensive about doing it but I don’t want to waste it.

Don’t know what to do now.

Thank you

I inject both without any problems.

Give it a trial and see how you get on with it.

It is certainly safe to inject. It may not have the same effect as hydroxo but it will be fine. You may find it works better for you or the same or not quite as well. The effects are different for everyone. Due to a hydroxo shortage in the USA, my twice per day hydroxo routine has been changed to cyano in the morning and hydroxo in the evening. I feel no difference so far.

I concur only way to know is try and evaluate. I personally had an issue with trying more than one form at a time. Counter intuitive for me. Felt like mixing oil and latex paint in my mixed up head.

This was actually helpful to me personally as I am waiting for a shipment of hydroxocobalamin and really did not want to run out. I have some cyno on hand and will see how that works. So thanks for that!

I did the same when ordering my first batch. A couple of days later I had a very bad day with my head stuff. I did start taking vit D3+K2 5700IU at the same time so not sure what caused it, if anything , or just a bad day before the injections started doing its job. I stopped taking them both and ordered up some Hydroxo, and that is working fine. I have 7 ampoules of Cyano left over and intend using it and the D3, a staggered introduction, once settled into a routine. It would be interesting to hear how you got on with yours.

Hi Chocolate41,

I have done the same. I still used the cyanocobalamin. The most important aspect is whether we react to the additives.

I am an awkward hound, not just a coeliac. When I went for endoscopy, the nurse asked about allergies. My answer was, Bear with me. I pulled out a lever arch file. Here’s a 47 page report. Their face dropped and they asked 3 times if I was okay with banana. They explained that the local anaesthetic contained it. Yes, I ate half a one, yesterday.

So, I advise anyone to keep up the frequency but drop the dosage to 0.5ml. See how you go for 4 injections. Then 0.7 mls for another 4 injections. Always using common sense.

The process of slowly increasing dosage is known as titration which FlipperTD, our scientist knows inside out, back to front, hanging upside down, blind folded, standing on one foot. 😜

Have you, or anyone found reducing B12 dose better for nerve pain? I never had that before injections. I sometimes think my body's no longer handling such intensity of 1.5 mg, like a virulent detox or something. This is a serious question by the way! Perhaps I shouldn't hijack this post with that question...

Oh Mixteca,

I can get nerve pain from different types of sugar that’s how weird I am. I make a noise like Lurch from the Addams family.

Chocolate41, has a lovely name, is concerned about cyanocobalamin. I look at their name and think you sound tasty but you’ll hurt me if I eat you. 🤣

Until fairly recently , Cynocobalamin was the only injectable B12 used in the U.K. It is still the most widely used injectable B12 in the USA . Don’t worry about it -use it and tell us if you notice any difference . Trouble is, you might be a bit prejudiced , knowing which type that you are injecting .

Cyano can be absorbed less than hydroxy. At least that is what the studies say, so you may have to inject more to get the same effect. Still, it will be different. I have tried both and I found cyano to be more diffuse and slower acting compared to hydroxy, but all of them work and are converted to usable forms in the body.
