This is what I had today as it was all the chemist had. Doctor writes prescription I go to chemist then back to doctors for injection. I've never heard of it before, I would have preferred just b12 but will have to do for now. Any advice on this?
Neurobion injection: This is what I had... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Neurobion injection
No advice but very interested.Seems like methylcobalabin and B6.
Do let us know how you get on with it.
That is wrong, that you were given an injection that you did not know what the injection was. I have read that it contains B1, B6 , and Cynocabalamin. It would depend on the formula for amounts of each. This is not my country. In the USA I would ask by email for a description of the product.
I found this online. Hope it helps:

Thankyou
Sounds like it has the less preferred form of B6 - Pyrodixine? This is the synthetic form AFAIK associated with neurological issues if taken long-term in high doses, while P-5-P I believe is the safest form.
Quite bizarre they gave you something not even prescribed instead of your actual prescription.
I should have worded it better. The chemist gave me what was on the prescription that the doctor requested. That's all that came up that was available at that time that from that chemist next door. Try and source my own next to to take with me. Cyanocobalamin is available over the counter in some chemists.
Interesting. There may be a trend towards treating neurological issues as a system and supplementing with an array of 'ingredients' An expansion of the co-factor understanding.
I feel the of understanding B12 deficiency is based on a 25+- year old understanding with a few modifications. A breakthrough at the time. Maybe the array of ingredients is the next breakthrough?
Ignoring that the current applied science is not applied well.
Scientist, not medic.
Shocking!
It's a licensed product from a big company, and it's widely used, but it's using a combined formula. In my early training days, it would have been referred to dismissively as 'shotgun therapy' where you dose someone with a wide range of components, and if they respond, you've no idea what actually helped them. However, it's probably not harmful.
Good luck, but stick with pure B12 if you can get it in future.
[Full marks for the pharmacist, by the way. At least you got the B12!]
