Injections for Neuropathy in Feet

Hi

After the usual tale of rejection I am paying for injections for neuropathy problem in my feet every other day and wonder whether anyone has advice about when to stop. I know everyone is different but the NICE guidance say "till it stops or no further improvement is realised - or something like that. It has improved after 18 injections but not gone away and how it feels varies from day to day. Can anyone give me steer on what to expect? I had to discipline myself as I wrote this to avoid lapsing into a rant about the general ignorance in the medical profession - Good luck to you all Thanks

Having read posts on this forum for 9 years , Inhave read that improvement can continue for over 2 years There is no way of knowing how long your improvement could continue for , as we are all different . But we do know that one cannot overdose on B12 ( yes my doctor told me that having more than 1 injection every 3 months would be TOXIC !!!!!!) But having private injections is very expensive.

if you would consider self injecting , it is so very much cheaper and convenient Most of us on this forum have been forced to do this . If you could consider this , you can get all the information. from us . Best wishes .

Hi Tony

Echo Wedgewood. You can buy your own B12 for less than £1 a shot and you are in control so can be guided by your body.

Bravo for the rantless post! 😂

I’m in a similar situation. I’ve been self injecting since August 2021 and I still have pains in my feet when I walk caused by insufficient B12 treatment. I’ve been told by my GP that this may take a few years to reverse the damage caused by this. In the meantime, I’m going through an alternative treatment for the pain, medicinal cannabis through a private GP and dispensary to help alleviate my pain. I’ve been trying this for the past few weeks and am beginning to have some relief, I’m just trying to work out what dosage works for me..

Just give it time with the current Methyl B12 treatment and maybe seek out some nerve pain medication for you to cope in the meantime.

Best of luck.
