I found this article helpful. Most of it I had learned on this site.

That subcutaneous injections is absorbed slower than intramuscular was new to me. Given the information that B12 is fully utilized in 6 hours and the rest is passed in urination. Unless of course you are in the UK and then it is transported in the wee. : ) Than it is possible subcutaneous may be more effective over time.

Oh yes.I can vouch that B12 is slower to be absorbed by subcutaneous injection.

I've hd both routes SC and IM for over 2 years now. 3 yea

rs infact this month!

I ve noticed after an IM b12 injection a sort of rush at times.

Hot flush or wanting to do everything at once .

'Jangly'

Not every time.

Also needing to wee alot.

Always hoped it would last longer in my system as it would make sense as deeper it should.

It does not goe me.

Subcutaneous effects more subtle but very effective and 'turns me round '

I'm trying to stick yo the same regime of IM at the surgery 4-6 weekly .

But there are no nurses so others come to help out.

Not ideal

Stupid booking system does not allow to book beyond a week ahead by which time no appointments!!

Sc in thr stomach absorbs quicker than other parts of the body .
