Bleeding from injection site

A spurt of blood poured out for the first time today, after injecting several times a week now daily for a few months. Took me by surprise. Wondering why. Did I hit something I shouldn't have? Belly fat, 2 inches to the RHS. Hopefully just one of those things! Sometimes I do worry that I really have no idea what I'm doing!!

I don’t shoot in the belly so I’d like to hear confirmation from those who do. I inject in the thigh and when this happens it means you injected into the vein. As I understand it is harmless. I have been injection for 2.5 years now and haven’t had any issues despite hitting Weins from time to time.

There is a protocol to detect if you are in a vein, but I didn’t see the need.

I inject into my belly and I do occasionally hit a vein. I've got pretty see through skin, so its easy to miss the ones on the surface, but I still sometimes hit a deeper one. Its nothing to worry about. Just put some pressure over the injection site for a minute or so to minimize any bruising and bleeding and all will be well. Unfortunately, I'm on blood thinners, so if I do happen to hit one, I end up with a huge bruise.

yes I inject into the belly and this happens sometimes - first time was quite alarming!!! But no harm done - just keep things super clean as it’s my understanding a greater risk is infection so swab, swab, swab and wash those hands!!

I inject IM into thigh and have done since 2017.

This has only ever happened to me once. I was demonstrating how easy and painless SI is to my partner - pulled out the needle and blood spurted in a high arc over the bed.

Have since decided that I'm better without an audience !

Dramatic, not dangerous or even painful, and soon stopped on it's own. A small blood vessel, I assumed.
