Can pharmacists get suspicious...

I am amazed to find that I can get B12 injection stuff over the counter in Australia. However, we have very strict regulations here and I was wondering if they can get suspicious when you are buying so much to self inject every few days? Can they refuse to sell it to you? Or simply not get enough in?

I order 10 boxes of three at a time, and boxes of syringes and needles from them too.

One chemist I use regularly was nervous, so I use another one where the pharmacist is very knowledgeable. As they are a holistic one as well , with a naturopath clinic.

I have found that Chemist Warehouse require a prescription, but Pharmacy 777 do not. It might be a good idea to go to a holistic friendly type chemist to order in bulk.

David jones pharmacy sell online , it’s classed as a food supplement so shouldn’t require a script.

The price does vary but my chemist matched the online price for me, which is cheaper than even with my Medicare rebates.

I use the Cobal or Neo b12 .

Hi Thess,

I have been self injecting B12 up to twice a week in Australia for a few years without any problems. My local pharmacist has been very helpful. At present, however, I am using Panpharma B12 ordered from mycare.de because it is cheaper (including shipping) and I suspect a better quality than the Australian made B12.

Thank you. I wonder if you can tell me how to view the page in English?

I view the site using Chrome. I get an option in the top right corner to change language. English (EN) is one of the options

I'm in UK and admit to feeling wistful to hear that you can get it over the counter. We can't in UK.

when the nhs gps find out you’re injecting, they make out it’s the worst thing ever and you’re going to die. But the private gp I’ve seen, has said it’s fine and to carry on!
