Headache and dizziness

Hi,

There is a post today about headaches and numbness. I have slowly, over time, increased my B12 shots and I am seeing some positive effects (starting about 14 months in). That said, I have had persistent dizziness and now I seem to wake up with a dull headache that lingers, ebbs and flows, through the day. I have been chalking this up to "something else?" (though not really thinking a doctor will diagnose this so I haven't gone). I have also thought, perhaps, the B12 deficiency could be causing the dizziness/headache.

I am reading here that the injections, and for me the increase in frequency, can be causing the increased dizziness and headaches. I did not have either of these symptoms before treating my very low B12 deficiency.

Can I stop worrying about this and just chalk this up to healing symptoms.

Thank you for any thoughts.

I had these symptoms before treatment with b12 and alot more.

Perhaps try some Cawthorne pysio exercises to help you manage these symptoms.

Have you seen s neurologist?

Drink lots of water too

Have you had recent bloods taken to see if iron is okay? And vit D and folate ?

I hope you improve soon.

My iron is mid-range, my D is low (absorption and genetic issues) and my folate is slowly going up. I had it tested this week. It was 7.1 which is the high end of low. Interestingly B6 is on the low end. I find it hard to tolerate but I believe it is essential to completing the methylation cycle so I am going to have to give it a go again.

Thanks, Nackapan. I always appreciate your input.

you mention your iron is mid range, have you had your ferritin checked? My iron was low/mid but my ferritin was low. Raising it really helped with my headaches.

Another thought is if you are getting enough potassium with your increased injection frequency. Try adding a little more into your diet and see if that helps.

My ferritin is okay too. I will investigate how much potassium is in my diet. I know supplementing can be difficult and even dangerous. Thank you.

correct, I only increase potassium through my diet. What is your ferritin? I had one hematologist tell me 11 was fine and another tell me that was very low.

My last ferritin was 48 ng/mL but it was done about two years ago. I have had an iron panel since then that was all normal, but sadly did not include a ferritin level.

I would encourage you to get a ferritin panel if possible. 48 is ok, but you can have a low ferritin even if your iron is normal.
