I have used the 2ml Hervert ampoules. You inject all the 2mls. I like this brand, it works well for me & I am waiting for a further order.

Thankyou Bobbidon.I didn’t want to waste the ampoules.Just aliitle put off by having to inject twice as much.

They contain exactly the same amount of B12 as Panpharma ampoules , just in more saline . Inject the whole amount . Never , anyhow keep any you don’t want to inject — dispose of it . It can be dangerous to keep once out of the ampoule . Best wishes 👍

My doctor has told me to fill a 2nd needle with the spare amount and keep it in the fridge when I don't use the whole ampule

If you're a trained and experienced microbiologist with the appropriate kit, than you might get away with it, but personally, I don't think I'd do that! [Neither, I suspect, would the microbiologist.] Keeping injection material [which would have been sterile initially] in a domestic fridge is unwise, but better than nothing.

😫🙄😬 this sums it up, the knowledge of our GP’s 👨‍⚕️ at least storage was suggested in a fridge . I thought I heard everything…. It’s as wedgewood says in answer, same amount B12 just more saline solution.

It's my functional medicine doctor 😬 (It's actually a different formulation to the one being discussed here .)

I am so glad you asked this question. I also somehow ordered these a while ago and did not know what to do with them. I did not want to waste any of my precious b12.

yes all of it , that’s what I had to get last order as 1 mg out of a stick , just received my next order and its back to 1mg.

Thank you so much for asking this question. I ordered same yesterday from Versandpo and was unsure if I had done the right thing. Thank you all for this amazing site. It has been a lifeline to me on my journey. I am now on 8 weekly from GP and supplement once every four weeks.

When I think back to where I was it’s been horrendous. Since B12 diagnosis in March 21 which I initiated, I have also been diagnosed with autoimmune mixed connective tissue disease. Aka SLE Lupus and Sogren and Raynauds. So I wasn’t hypochondriac wasn’t going insane and my symptoms which had been dismissed by doctor for years ( menopausal hysterical woman) were in fact Lupus and PA . In the end it was a hospital chest registrar that saved me when she saw me walk in bent over and two stone down since last visit.

Don’t give up and thank you to all who take the time to contribute to this site.

Glad you asked too. Mine came as 2ml as well. I just assumed that was just the brand and injected all of it as it still said 1000ug. So hevert does make a 1ml ampoule but maybe sold these when stock was low or something? It is a lot to inject.

hello Eleanore,Glad I haven’t been the only one caught out but will have to put up with the extra size.Have you injected the larger amount yet and was it uncomfortable? I haven’t tried yet?

Hello Mrsannabbott, I have injected it twice. I use a small 1ml diabetic syringe so I have to fill my syringe twice and inject two separate times. It is however a lot of fluid to inject. I use the same needle for both jabs. I haven't found a larger ML syringe that I like yet because a good amount of B12 gets left in the tip of the larger syringe I have. And I don't want to waste any of this liquid life. So I use smaller diabetic needles as nothing gets left in the syringe tip. Others may object to jabbing twice with the same needle, but so far I've had no issues what so ever. It's not like bacteria has a chance to grow between the two jabs. I do get a briuse though. Wish I knew how to not get a briuse when injecting. Also, I have a bit more of a sting with hydroxy compared to Cyano, I think. Not sure yet as only used it twice. It didn't bother me too much though. Hope that is helpful. Sometimes I put one jab in my belly and the other in my left thigh as that leg has the most nerve damage. Not sure it is doing anything, But thought that if I injected into the leg that bothered me the most, The B12 would maybe work just that much better. Of course I inject in the thigh where they say and in my belly 2 inches from belly button. Good luck. 😊

Thank you Eleanore,You are having a tough time.I hope you find a bigger syringe that is comfortable.Injecting twice can’t be an easy solution.Best wishes.

Thank you Mrsannabbott, I don't mind so much The little syringe I can hardly even feel it. But it would be more convenient to have a larger needle that didn't waste so much B12. Good luck to you too. 🦋

If you are concerned about the amount left in the syringe, you could try using low dead space needles. They were created exactly to minimize what's left in the syringe after injecting. I do find it harder to get rid of air bubbles in the syringe with those needles though so I prefer the regular ones. The ampoules generally contain some extra to compensate for the amount that is wasted in the syringe.

Oh great, Thank you whyamIsotired. I will look for those. It's so hard to waste even that little bit. I think I'll also take pickle500's advice and make sure next time I get the 1ml ampoules. I do subcutaneous, but these 2ml ampules are a lot of fluid. I do prefer the one ml. I didn't realize they came larger until I got my order.

Do not use 2ml if you are injecting regularly. It is too much for your sites to handle. I learned this the hard way.

2ml is fine only for weekly or monthly injections. Any more frequently and you run the risk of overloading your sites and damaging your muscles.

Exercise caution is all I would say.

hello Pickle500,I only inject 3wkly but this might be a suitable caution for those who inject more frequently. Can you be more precise about the , overloading sites and possible damage, please.

Pickle500 profile image
Pickle500 in reply to Mrsannabbott

Your arm deltoids aren't supposed to take more than 1ml at a time. So the only other spot for an IM injection with 2ml is the thighs. But if there isn't enough time left between injections into the thighs, 2ml can overload the muscles. This fluid overload can do exactly what any overload would do - overstretch the muscles and harm their structure.

thank you Pickle500,I must admit I was nervous about the amount for one injection.I use the thigh but am considering reordering the 1ml ampoules.
