My condolences 🇬🇧

Like many others, I would like to offer my condolences here, too. I have friends in the UK and a big family in Canada, although I didn’t speak to them yet, I am sure they all are filled with consternation.

This is a profound loss. The European flag in my front yard is at half-mast.

When I was young, I didn't understand why we needed a Royal family at all.

As I got older, I understood - the Queen was there purely for us. No other role exists where this is the truth.

A huge task which some might see as a burden, but which she carried out, right to the end of her days, with delight.

What a loss.

i have a lot of family in Canada and they’re devastated. I’m in the U.S. but have adored the Queen for years. The more I learned about her the more she had my utmost respect. A huge loss for the world.
