OK I am female, but I am trying to resolve problem for hubby.
Have any Male have dull painful ache in the liver area when urinating.
He has had this problem for several years now, doctors just fob him off as if its
not a problem.
It comes and goes.
He has had it the last two days.
He has now had another B12 Injection,and we are monitoring if this pain goes,and see when it returns. It just might be by chance connected !!

I don't think it would be B12. It is not the type of trouble or area and B12 is usually bi-lateral. I do think it is potentially serious, may not be, but I would be pushing for more help from your Doctor. Your Kidneys are kind of behind your liver so I would definitely get those checked as well. Fatty liver or too much alcohol can cause liver ache but I don't know how that would be associated with urination. I hope you make progress with this.
Thanks for your reply. He hasn't had alcohol for over 20 years even before that it was at weddings etc. Never smoked. Had B12 deficiency, as I mentioned been monitoring and noted everything in a diary for 10 months now, Gave him B12 Yesterday and since not had the pain.So B12 keeps symptoms at bay ... but I agree could be Liver or Kidneys. Had loads of blood work done thursday,
Will have to await results.

Interesting, B12 does seem to improve a lot of aches and pains. Glad it's helping. My main aching areas were spine, armpit and down arms, and feet. Every 2 weeks is minimum time between shots to keep it at bay. Let us know how you/he get on.
Another observation from this was that prior to his injection his blood pressure was raised especially the lower reading. Two hours later his blood pressure normal (75 years of age not on any medication). All I can assume from this is B12 is fighting the inflammation still in his body.Again I am assuming inflammation can raise blood pressure .... I have no medical background at all.
That's interesting too! Have you gone to the special B12 Deficiency websites and read up? There's a lot of knowledgeable people on here too, when they notice a post.B12 helped the "afib" my heart used to do.
We are under a private specialist at the moment, had steriod injection, MRI not good. He hasn't revealed diagnoses and when questioning him changes subject, hence son going to next appointment to demand written confirmation of findings, all we know is that it was/is serious illness.
I was diagnosed with b12 deficiency and not treated.... Dr Chandy came to my rescue !!!

Yes. Inflammation also raises ferritin levels . No idea why.
An inflammation marker can be measured via a blood test.

I will have to contact private hospital tomorrow,Now he cant walk, pins and needles in neck and head, and sweating a lot. Also cant touch right hip and bum for severe pain. A repeat of what happened just before christmas last year.
NHS,Ambulance didnt want to know, Private specialist dealing with it, and I prefer they carry on

One thing I remember well when talking to Dr Chandy, he said it's not what the Doctors tell you,You have to worry about, it's what they DONT tell you, then you have to worry.
And in this case they are not telling us anything other than it serious!!!
Just a good job we didnt wait for the NHS , waiting list upto a year !

The NHS do fast track if Gp deems necessary and seen within 2 weeks so you aware.
I had one if those which was scary in itx self.
But was okay.
I paid a neurologist to 'read' a brain scan report.
As the wait was 3 months .

Cystitis, maybe. I have this. It's an irritable bladder and feels much like a bladder infection. The pain flairs up when I eat certain foods. I kept going in thinking I had a kidney infection or bladder infection but the test often came up negative. My gallbladder was tested. So many things were tested. They ruled out the worst things that would have taken surgery to fix and never bothered to try out the simple solutions. Turns out to much of the following things can cause irritation in the urinary functions: the fizz in water and sodas, Bananas, citrus, caffiene, chocolate. Bananas are a big one for me. There are more that cause irritation but those are the main offenders for me. At least to much of any of those things. You can run a search and find a more exhaustive list. Eliminating those foods than adding than adding them back can help pinpoint the offender. That is if this is his problem. I hope this helps.
Had b12 friday and pain has gone ! Perhaps this might indicate more b12 needed. Perhaps even stressed liver !!

Well after several months of frustration and reasoning I think we might have just had the solution.
Months of heated disagreements, I told him I was NOT his Specialist, It is no good him telling me (after suffering Three days) of pins and needles in his head, gagging on food, lump in throat, sitting in one position to avoid pain, He had to start opening up to the specialist and his Son ! (his daughter dosent want to know)
Sunday I got his son to come over. I told him the facts ... Not the normal response via telephone where he would say "I am O.K " (which after ten months really infuriated me.)
After explaining the Specialist is not a clairvoyant, and can't help him unless he helps himself in revealing everything (I was told off for saying the facts.... as it embarrassed him).
It was he himself who got the appointment and his Son is now taking him. That alone is a break through.
This morning for the first time in months a bit of laughter returned.
Cruel to be kind.
