Bit confusedWe're you prescribed iron?

Ferrous fumarate or similar? For low ferrigon/ iron

The folic acid is treating low folate

. At that time your b12 would've been tested as usually the labs do this together

Was your b12 level okay?

On your next blood test folate will be tested and if okay the 5mg of folic acid shoukd be stopped. A very high dose is a short term thing to increase levels quickly.

Ask for everything to be repeated as well as vit D thyroid ect.

And to be explained.

The numbers on the right of results give the 'in range'

Ask for a paper copy of your results.

The maintenence dose is 400mcg daily of folic acid when your levels are up . Recommended for all women of chikd bearing age.

Before I was diagnosed with b12 deficiency my heart was giving palpitations. I was breathless and having all sorts of 'electrical ' shocks going through my body

I had the opposite really coukd not relax to sleep ,very 'wired'

Also told I was having a panic attack??

I was not.

I think the autonomic system is disturbed and mimics this.

The medics were also unconcerned when I described what was going on.

All very scary.

Persevere to get some answers which I know very difficult.

Just keep ringing to get a telephone appointment with a Gp.

Write a list of symptoms.

Try and get seen.

If you are getting severe symptoms and not getting listened to..

Ferritin is an Iron protein stored in the liver. How low was LOW ? Always obtain copies of test results with ranges from Reception. They are legally yours and will enable you to monitor your own health and check what has been missed.

Also check VitD and B12.

I would suggest a FULL IRON Profile test to check what is going on.

Are you taking any meds that could be affecting absorption of nutrients ?
