Wow! Just taken delivery of my order placed on Friday. Not unpacked yet. Excellent service, there seem to be a lot of documents attached to the box, so they’ll make interesting reading given all the discussion in UK about documentation for export/import.
Further update on Versandapo - Pernicious Anaemi...
Further update on Versandapo
Good to know still operating I have points to spend!
That was very quick -Order placed Friday , delivered on Tuesday ! ( with weekend in between !)
Same here! Ordered placed on Thursday (my first) delivered Monday. All thanks to admin team especially Wedgwood for the fantastic clear support and guidance they give 🙏🧐
I use them too. It is an excellent service. Very efficient.
I did the same last week. Fearing there might be a problem I decided to have a go at finding another country of supply. I tried India as they are making all sorts of things.
There are loads of suppliers of injectable B12 but not hydroxo, mainly methyl and Cyano. Also either in powder form or liquid in a rubber topped bottle.
I was offered 200 1mg in 1ml ampoules of Cyano for about what we pay for 100 hydroxo from Germany for $10 $80 for courier.
There was an injectable B complex with 1000mcg Cyano.
Eventually there was hydroxo but the price of the courier was huge.
That is when I gave up using the very clumsy interface they insisted on for another try at Versandapo and Bodfeld.
I do think it would be possible to get what we use from India if the amount was greater but then, whoever bought it would have to be the supplier to others which would then get them prosecuted for supplying a prescription only drug.
It was an interesting exercise.
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
It’s ridiculous considering you can get b12 injections in beauty spa’s and clinics as long as you don’t need them for medical reasons. I noticed an advert saying they were available in a list of other treatments such as Botox injections in a small town near me!
Customs docs really aren’t that interesting. As someone who sends parcels to Europe and worldwide for my job. It is mostly the same piece of paper printed 3-4 times, of which no one at customs really ever opens or reads. Mildly infuriating waste of trees.
Well done on getting your own b12, I have ordered from Bodfeld before was fine, but you are limited to 3 packs of 10.
I ordered 10 packs from Versandapo about 3-4 weeks ago and was no problem.
I also ordered 5 packs from apohealth (I think it was) before Christmas, and again all fine.
Shipping costs are rising astronomically all over the world tho unfortunately same as everything else.
Yes, I know, but I was just intrigued to see what might be different due to all the Brexit paperwork we’re hearing about.😃
I too just received 3 packs x10 x 1 of B12 ampoules (hydroxocobalamin) from Bodfeld Apotheke in Germany, and shipping from Germany to here in the NE England was just under £10 and took only a few days. I am so glad I found this site and I wish I could remember who it was who told me about the supplier, anyway I would like to say thanks. The reason I have to buy from abroad and not get free injections from the surgery is that like a lot of B12 injection sufferers had the injections stopped because of Co Vid, I have P. Anaemia but I have severe Retinopathy (eyes. I'm an IDD) and Neuropathy and was offered the chance to have my NHS injections reinstated, But, I have to stop all injections for 3 months and then have a blood test, and then if its well below the border line (I'm told) the injections will be reinstated.I do not feel that I can afford, health wise, to suspend my treatment. Besides, I self inject in my bottom (ish) and its more comfortable than in my arm which is the only place the practice nurse will administer the injection, when she used to do it, There is, on You Tube, an excellent video- step by step guide by a lovely retired American ex nurse who also has to inject, and the video is excellent.
Unbelievable! Your medics don’t know what they are talking about. If you have pernicious anaemia you have to have treatment for life. I do hope you can get this sorted asap. I know others on here more knowledgeable than me will give you plenty of references with which to tackle your GP. I am so appalled and sorry that you are having this trouble. But glad, that like me, you are able to source it from Germany. Take care and keep well.
Kazania, thank you for your reply and support. When this issue of stopping every bodies B12 injections started, I did complain to the GP who stopped them (by email, the only way to contact the surgery at the time) he told me he was acting under the strict guidelines of the Care Quality Commission. I told him I was diagnosed by a consultant ( who was also a professor in his field) but this made no difference to his decision. I even asked for him to supply via prescription my usual dose of B12 and I would learn or get some professional to administer the injection- thinking that, due to Co vid, he was concerned about the practice nurse having to have contact with me to administer the injection. This apparently was not the case, the support staff at the surgery were working as, near normal, My suspicions where aroused, and I personally thought- money- budgets- etc are involved in this and I told him so via email. he was not amused and that was the last contact I had with my GP- nearly 2 years ago.. This is just -IMHO one of the many things happening in the NHS and GP practices under the 'smokescreen' of Co Vid 19, and there is very little a 71 yo man who lives alone can do about it. It's the way it is now. By the way- The video I learned to inject with is by the nice Angela and it can be found on You Tube here: youtu.be/-oi9QIMtD4M
"It's the way it is now" correct and only set to get worse
Thank you, just wanted to say re the video you posted. I wouldn’t be happy using the same wipe for the top of the bottle and her skin both before and after injecting, cross contamination? I use two needles one long for removing the B12 from the vial and another smaller for the actual injection as advised by others on this forum and also shown in the Australian video I watched about injecting into the thigh. Take care of yourself, I wish you well again.
Of course it is ridiculous that a highly toxic substance such as Botox can be peddled by primpers , blow wavers and make up artists without hindrance or control. It is strange that as it is administered by injection is doesn’t require a prescription for supply, or does it and greedy medics are just writing them with gay abandon. Who is doing the injections, are they medically qualified or are they doing it ignoring the risk of being charged with common assault or whatever that is called these days. Never mind though, some of us are safe for a while with our recent deliveries via the DHL chariot of mercy and they good offices of Versandapo et al.
I agree. I wouldn’t be keen to have injections there. I’m much happier doing my own. The regulations that you can’t have it for a medical problem but who have have for ‘beauty’ reasons is utterly ludicrous. Dickens had it right, “if that what the law says … then the law is an ass”
I can understand why all injectable materials are prescription only though. It does keep dangerous drugs off the open market and it means legislation can be blanket rather than individual. We are wanting an exception for something to solve our particular problems. Problems which didn’t apply until fairly recently. I have a good friend who is a retired GP. His attitude is to provide injections to treat our symptoms, every day if that is what is required, but he started practice when PA really was a killer. He knows what it is all about. The current incumbents don’t and I think there is a greater emphasis on meeting budgets in the curriculum these days.We are stuffed, or on our own.
Absolutely right.
