Urgent help for severe numbness in deltoid, trapozoidium muscles and triceps and arm and hand muscles

I can't sleep even ten minutes due to severe numbness in deltoid, trapozoidium and tricep muscles and also the rest of arm muscles.

In the last couple of days I have severe stress due to tooth infection and I couldn't sleep for couple days and I take amoxicillin 500 for eight days because of bad infection. Regular number is seven days but mine was so bad and I'm taking 20 more capsules. But out of the blue severe numbness and feeling extreme cold in those muscles started. I had already numbness in those muscles along with feeling of burning but it got resolved by putting something like a four legged small plastic stool. And then it was gone by itself. Now after this tooth problem I couldn't sleep because of severe tooth pain, but it's pain receded and now my hands have severe numbness. I take B12 pills in mega dose and I inject hydroxocobalamin every four days( I'm increasing frequency it was started every seven days and now I increased to every four days) I have injected almost 50 cyanocobalamin and 8 hydroxocobalamin. I'm taking 15000mcg methylcobalamine a day and taking iron two times a week, but I'm going to stop it soon for a while after checking fretin. I take activated b complex with low B6 and take vitamin D3 k2 and Omega 3.My symptoms bare getting improved but I have no idea what happened after my tooth problem. Now I can't sleep even ten minutes. Please help. I don't know what to do and how to get help from my GP. Please help I need to sleep. I feel like extreme cold in those muscles and burning feeling. What can it be?

I haven't an answer.

However after a tooth extraction abd 2 lots of antibiotics.

I had very odd symptoms too.

Before b12 deficiency. I've hadcteeth out and taken antibiotics without any 'extras '

It I think magnifies whats already going on for you.

Tell your doctor

Or write it all down. . So will go on your record.

Hope some relief soon.

You must be exhausted with not being able to sleep.

The stress and pain you have been suffering will all worsen the B12 symptoms. I am finding the slightest stress makes my symptoms worse.

I do hope things improve soon.

I found a way to sleep. I put my head on pillows in over a plastic stool outside of my mattress and take one if my hands out if mattress on a pillow band the other on mattress over two pillows like hugging position and also put one of my leg on a quilt in tumbled position in order to stop twisting my back. In this position I can sleep. It's really hard but helped me to sleep but I have to refresh my position couple if times until morning.

The strange things we have to do just to try and get some sleep but if it works for you then that is an achievement. I purchased a large body pillow which I put one leg over. It's a good job we live alone and nobody can see us, I get very cold hands and sometimes have to wear gloves in bed.

Like you I also have to change position through out the night. It's a good job we can talk about these things to other's on here who understand.

I get cold hands too. In Canada's winter sometimes I wear two gloves and looking hor a glove works in that way but I couldn't find. There is a type of battery heated gloves but it run out of power so fast that's why two gloves works better. In my case trapezius muscles and deltoid along with triceps are so weak and get bad numbness feel cold in those muscles and a little burning which doesn't let me to sleep. But I feel some improvement is taking place

I have seen the heated gloves but as you say the battery goes flat, I wear the thermal gloves. Many on here suffer with weak muscles which is all part of the illness - hopefully this will improve in time.

The burning and stinging in hands, legs, feet is a common symptom for many of us on here. I feel a little better for injecting but feel I have a long way to go.

Have a look at University of Maryland Medical Center's "Drugs that deplete : Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin). Or drugs.com/drug-interactions.... or any similar list from reliable medical source. Amoxycillin is known to affect B12.

When I was first ill with B12 deficiency, I did get a lot of problems with teeth: infections, loose teeth, recurring gum abscesses. I also had fresh problems with antibiotics needed: Metronidazole (for abscesses) and Doxycycline (for suspected SIBO)- made me very dizzy and bad headache.

With frequent injections, I am getting better and now find I rarely get infections or need antibiotics. When I have needed any antibiotics, I do not experience problems. It has been slow getting to this point though.

My ferritin and folate, in the beginning, were both low and I was given 3-month course of tablets for both. The levels would stay good for a while then drop again. It took about 2 years to stabilise levels- and now I don't take supplements for these. Usually the levels are monitored by GP - but not currently. Not because they have refused, but because I haven't felt ill, so have left it. Hair loss and bleeding gums were two symptoms that my GP attributed to folate or ferritin rather than my B12 deficiency. Difficult right now to get a GP of your choice to speak to here, even on the phone.

My vitamin D must have been low as I was found to have osteoporosis of the spine too and so I get daily dose of vitamin D on prescription still. This is also monitored by Dexascan.

I do not recall ever having muscle burning, numbness or coldness - but muscle loss, yes. And so loss of physical strength. Hands and feet were either very hot (burning) or very cold - but I don't think that was muscle (?).

If you have had an adverse reaction to antibiotics, you should let your doctor know. Medical help -or at least acknowledgement of your current condition- would be a relief. Harder to get there alone.

Thank you so much. I take methylcobalamine slow release pills along with hydroxocobalamin shots two times a week. My muscle strength in rest of my body improved except my arms. I suspect of myasthenia gravis involvement but neurologist was told me it's a general thing after nerve conductivity test and my muscles don't get better or worse just a little bit improvement. I have double vision and blurry eyesight, blurry eyesight improved a little. I used to inject cyanocobalamin but I think it works but the amount of B12 my body requires is alot that's why I take 15000 mcg methylcobalamine slow release pills and it works for me. At the beginning of my symptoms right after megaloblastic aneamia ( never detected in test but my symptoms was exactly the same described in medical text and after taking B12 all of related symptoms abated, but new symptoms started along with two old symptoms that I had- double vision and stomach muscles loss of strength which ended in umbilical hernia- other muscle weakness and numbness started later after I tried to exercise lightly and I think just cyanocobalamin injection wasn't enough. In the meantime my feritin was low and I have completely changed my treatment. Started to take iron, active b complex, methylcobalamine timed release pills and hydroxocobalamin injection and then I saw improvement. Except for stomach muscles weakness and double vision all if my other muscle symptoms developed just in three minutes and I think my B12 treatment in first place wasn't enough ( cyanocobalamin especially can't be effective in some people though my injection frequency was every ten days) and exercise execerbate my symptoms. I used to be physically active during b12 deficiency since in 2014 my GP after test told me I need monthly shot but I couldn't get more than four times monthly shot, but I didn't have any symptoms in that time except some joint pain when walking on stairs and some feeling of stomach muscle stiffness.
