COVID-19’s toll on the elderly and those with diabetes mellitus – Is vitamin B12 deficiency an accomplice?
Ah, another article pointing in this direction. Thank you, very interesting. 👍
We who deal with B12 deficiency know how much B12 is sometimes underestimated, even by doctors.
You read all different things about covid but this research is by far the most interesting, the fact they are now examining B12 and covid can only be good news. The fact that high b12 / folate balance can protect us even more !
I think martyn hooper even got in touch with the NHS or scientists when he noticed similarities.
Your never know this might be the one time when doctors start to take a little bit more interest in B12.
👍
Brilliant article MoKayD
I hadn't thought of heightened interest in B12 deficiency when I read this article but wouldn't that be wonderful!
Interesting article, thank you McKayD. Have to wonder too about the fact that Metformin prescribed for diabetes 2 depletes B12. A friend followed the Michael Moseley 8 Week Diet plan for diabetes and recovered, but GP is still prescribing metformin a year later.
Dr Linda Bensten and Gareth (Gruff) Davies, PhD, have brought out a new paper on v. latest proven research into the huge benefits of vitamin D and the virus, - especially for the elderly and those with darker skin. The evidence supported 220 top scientists and medics (Professors and Phds,) which was sent to governments around the world but ignored ! Sorry, but you have to ask why this evidence has been ignored ?
Dr Carmen Wheatley, Oxford research doctor, also highly recommended vitamin D and, the 'pan' vitamin B12, and told of many doctors around the world already treating Covid patients with v. high doses of both.
