Important Up to Date Information on Vitamin D

Very clear and informative video. Dr Campbell is a retired Phd lecturer to nursing profession. This answers most questions and shows again how important it is to have really good levels of this vitamin/hormone.

Wondering why this information isn't widely emphasised by government and media?

Thanks for another link Marz - all good information 🤗

I really like him - he appears to be without ego or prejudice, down to earth and clear in the way he puts across analysis of research for us laymen.

I was only just thinking about writing a post to remind people of the importance of vitamin D and to keep deficiency symptoms in mind if they aren't getting the improvements they expect from high frequency B12 injections.

Various little things have added together over the last few weeks and meant that inadvertently I hadn't taken my D3 + K2 supplements as regularly as I should recently, with the result that on Sunday I was useless for anything, in horrible bone-gnawing pain throughout my body and couldn't sleep despite being totally exhausted. Unfortunately because it numbs my brain too it took until sometime in the early hours of Monday morning for the penny to drop - Vitamin D required!

I coerced myself to go and get my tablets, took a couple (kill or cure! 😜) and sure enough, within 20 minutes I started to relax finally was able to sleep.

I meant to take another one about 2pm yesterday but forgot (again!!) and by 4 pm the symptoms started coming back. Wise to it this time, I was soon on the case and feeling better but it was a sobering reminder of how horribly ill this deficiency makes you.

I'm lucky because this is one of my genetic deficiencies and is the primary deficiency for my cousin, aunt and others so I had their descriptions of the symptoms to guide me when I first experienced it.

In a way it's just like B12d, only the pain/neuropathy is from the inside out, rather than the outside in and the insomnia is worse.

Great to see your contributions again, thank you! xx

Thank you for yours too Denise 🤗. Members of my family have just discovered from gene testing that they don't absorb vitamins A, D and B12 - passed down through the maternal line - makes sense now of why my mum had rickets as a child growing up in Austria.....

Wow!

I think we are on the brink of a whole new outlook on health maintenance with genetic testing becoming more mainstream and affordable.

It seems ironic that where on one hand some of us are fighting, every moment, to get essential nutrients into us and at the same time others are eating fast food and vegan stuff, swilled down with alcohol; starving and poisoning their bodies in sad ignorance.

in reply todeniseinmilden

I wouldn't mind be deficient in b12 or what ever if it was the fact I was neglecting what we put in our mouths! As for alcohol not drank for twenty thirty years..... and classed by others as odd !

It is so frustrating.

On the vitamin side I seen a program whereby if you need certain vitamins (not full Multivitamins)

They will make these vitamins to your request.

So if you just need b12,folic C and E that's what they will make for you. Of course this comes at a cost and minimum order.

Your sage words are a balm to my soul!

We've been able to order specially balanced vitamins and minerals for farm animals for decades. We sample the soil, their forage (grass and maize usually), other feeds (corn, beans, etc), blood test a random selection of the animals and take bulk milk samples from milking cows and sheep, then give the mineral supply companies our required specification to balance their needs for optimum health and vitality. We review and adjust this as we go through the year to make sure everyone is sympathetically catered for as the feeds' composition and the animals requirements change slightly with the seasons.

The minimum order is usually a tonne at £750.00 / tonne or more!

The difference it makes is always clearly noticeable - happier, calmer animals with better coats and feet and increased productivity, so is well worth the cost and effort.

I've got to the point that I can just be with an animal for a few minutes to get a good inkling of what it's likely to be short of if there is a problem!

Thank goodness animal nutrition and, to some degree medicine, is way beyond that for humans. There is (almost) no placebo effect and no words in the language between animals and us so we have to look with open minds.

Now wouldn't that refreshing!

I quite agree.

Years ago food from the allotments tasted so much better.

We would go to the farmer order a load of dung, tractor would arrive dump the dung and everybody would spread the dung dig it into the ground and hey presto good nutritious food.

I knew instantly when our dog was poorly, and the right time to let him go peacefully.

If only doctors were more aware of the healing powers of vitamins especially b12.

@Sallyanni and deniseinmilden

You'll probably think me completely mad but, since reading years ago that Carl Jung woke disappointed from a particularly vivid dream thinking he'd found the secret to life, - a pile of dung! - I actually think he was on to something ! 😊

in reply toPolaris

Can you imagine everybody barefoot standing in a pile of dung hoping to be energised lol

😀 All the professors are now saying that we're all too clean - son's dog's favourite spot while walking is covered in piles of cow dung - she's ecstatic if she gets to roll in it 🤦‍♀️

One more thing they don't mention is that if you have your gallbladder taken out, your levels of Vit D will plummet unless you take high daily doses. i started taking 10K IU daily.
