Injecting into stomach or muscle?

Hi all.. I have been injecting in to my stomach 2 inches away from belly button directly into fat as I am so terrified of needles it’s the only way I can do it. I have to inject every 2-3 weeks. Does anyone else inject in to fat and what are the advantages/benefits of both?? Thanks in advance.. xx

It is alleged that I.M injections get into the system quicker . But many people find sub-cut satisfactory. If you do , I wouldn’t change now .You can also do sub-cut into the thighs. It’s good to vary the site

They mean into the fat in the thighs not the muscle.

Hi Vitb12,

I s.c. into my stomach and recently into thighs. I was doin I.M. into thigh but only left, my right was far too sensitive so was running out of injection sites as every other day. (I’m right handed, had visible neurological symptoms, had right sided trigeminal neuralgia).

For me, I find s.c. Into my little belly easier and far less painful. Yes, it doesn’t work as quickly - not that noticeable really. Well done for doing it - even if scared.

Best wishes

I did SC into my belly too. My functional medicine GP prefers it. Said something about IM had a risk of damaging nerve endings 🤷🏼‍♀️ I was also terrified of self injecting but with SC I don’t even think about it anymore. I’m fact it’s lessened my fear of other injections and having blood taken. Not that I will ever do IM to myself though 😉

Believe me there is nothing more terrifying than this b12 deficiency symptoms. I wish my pain was just limited to injection pain then I was going to inject every hour!

I do sc also have IM at the surgery. Have done for nearly 2 yesrs .

Sc I do in my thighs belly hips anywhere there us enough fat to form a small roll.

The only difference occasionally is I feel the IM one go In more quickly.

Can hurt more as giving in the upper arm.

Was hoping the IM one woujd stay jn my system longer.

I've written notes on method brand place of body.

Stomach goes in a bit quicker

As IM

So in my case it goes in whatever tge method

No rhyme or reason of effect.

IM one lasts no longer for me .

In theory IM would be measurably more effective as there's more bloodflow around muscle than fat. But if you respond to SI treatment and it's easier for you, then by all means.

Complement it with some light exercise to get the blood flowing, if you can.
