Is that normal to feel too much cold in pa and B12 deficiency?

These days after weather getting cold I feel too much cold and also catch cold. When I go outside I feel too much cold in my fingers and toes.

Recently I tried mega dose of B12 timed release along with active form of folate and almost weekly cyanocobalamin injection and I think it works so good and fast. But I can't tolerate nthis cold weather in Canada and without gloves my fingers and hand turns to red. Last year I could tolerate any coldness but after megaloblastic anemia gradually developed severe muscle weakness and muscle pain along with blurry vision and double vision. Then I found low ferritin and lack if bioavailability of cyanocobalamin and also lack if active form of b complex may are the cause and after correction lots of my severe symptoms improved in a matter of weeks. But I think I need more frequent injection and switching to hydroxocobalamin is essential to get improved. But this recent cold really scared me. Do you think maybe my blood sugare issue or just too much muscle weakness which require to to work properly and increase body temperature. Before taking mega doses of timed release methylcobalamine I couldn't even go for shopping and now I can walk couple of hours but recent coldness problem surprised me.

Feeling cold in the extremities could also point to low thyroid. Have you been correctly tested recently ?

I'm the opposite I am boiling hot all the time after any exertion and overweight due to "Chocdown"! I find I cannot loose the weight - I have in the past but took over a year and a half to get it off and since then everytime I try it's a complete waste (waist?) of time and money. I've had my thyroid tested near the borderlines but doc says I'm not hydro but my family have a history of have a baby bring on the fat pump and problems with weight control.

I have always felt cold badly but, since being diagnosed with B12 deficiency It has got worse. I’m in UK but it’s very cold at the moment. I sympathise with you!!

Hi Libuse,

Sorry to hear you are struggling. I’m in the U.K. and cold intolerant - I’ve had Raynaurds since a young teenager. Yesterday, I went out wearing thermals under clothes - sheepskin coat, gloves, hat (I look like I’m going to the Artic) but I really struggled and got ‘air hungry’. Definitely not anxiety and poorly understood.

Today it’s that bit milder and symptoms so much easier to manage.

Keep warm. 😊
