About 2 months ago I wrote about my GP having sent a text in the evening saying he was reviewing all his patients on Hydroxycobalamin injections. He wanted to review my treatment and conduct a serum B12 text. You were very helpful and I’ve discussed that this is both a test without merit and non compliant, as I’m on treatment.
Formal complaint issued and this is the verbal response.
As I receive B12 injections which are licenced but not for my condition, as I have never had a positive test result for known causes, the GP must review his prescription - so I am told. This occurs especially where there is a change in GP as there was for me, even though it was within the same practice.
Hopefully this is all true. I offered that practitioners may wish to hear about people’s experiences of the condition, as many just don’t understand it.
If you have any comments these will be appreciated.
I must add that he is happy to continue the treatment regime already in place without further testing.
