I've seen many posts where all of you kind people provide info on where to order supplies and what to order. However, I have been scouring to specifically find which online pharmacies will ship hydroxo to the US and I am coming up empty. Sorry to ask this repeat question, but if someone can paste the info here I would greatly appreciate it. I also am curious what size needles everyone uses for IM.
Lastly, how long does it take?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks helvella - my doctor's office seems to have decided that writing an RX for SI is not part of their protocol, after the doctor committed to doing it. Looks like I am on my own.
I was told by an American member, that B12 Hydroxocobalamin single use ampoules were obtainable from a reliable German online pharmacy ( all of which are strictly controlled by the German health authorities ) namely —-apohealth.de English translation available from a drop - down list at the foot of the page . This is a German made product .
Panpharma B12 depot ia a single use Hydroxocobalamin B12 ampoule 1mg x 1ml. Its reference number is — 16199653 for a packet of 10 . They usually cost about 7-8 Euros for 10. I don’t know shipping costs to USA
. I use a 25G x 1 inch needle for I.M .injections , but I use a long withdrawing needle to withdraw the B12 - 21G x 1 1/2 inches .
I inject into the Vastus Lateralis muscle in the outside middle third of the thigh , where it comes closest to the surface
I have no idea how long shipping from Germany to USA would take . It’s about 4 working days from Germany to U.K.
Just found that there is an online Australian company which sells all the forms of injectable B12 Cybocobalamin , Hydroxocobalamin and Methylcobalamin , namely
Thanks wedgewood. I really appreciate it. I'm really so confused. I went to apohealth.de but the reference # you list above is not found. I did find the same reference # on another site, so I'm making progress. I am looking for the different needles, however, and when I search for the ones you recommend, so many choices come up that I can't figure out which is which. Can I trouble you to provide reference #'s if you have a brand that works for you? I look forward to the day when all of this is second nature. Thanks again for the support.
I can now see that apohealth.de does not supply the Panpharma b12 Depot ( Hydroxocobalamin) anymore . This is a French company that has recently taken over the old German Rotexmedica make of ampoule . As I never use this pharmacy , I didn’t know this . This is most unfortunate . There are other brands that they stock — namely Hevert B12 depot ( “depot” indicates Hydroxocobalamin, and is important to mention , as they also make Cynocobalamin) These ampoules are 1mg x 2 ml . So the same strength but in more saline . They also stock Pascoe brand , B12 depot , which is 1.5 mg x 1 ml ampoule . . This pharmacy is the only German online pharmacy that I know of that will ship to USA . B12 ampoules are not a prescription medication in Germany , thank goodness
As for needles I buy these in U.K. ,not at German online pharmacies .
You can buy your needles in USA without any trouble at ——- allegromedica.com or at bulksyringes.com I have acquired this information from American members . I’m so sorry I am unable to give you any references or links , I’m 84 and not competent with doing that .
If you have more difficulties , I advise you to post again , and in the heading , call upon other members in USA . Just persist until someone notices it . I’m sorry that they don’t stock the Panpharma ampoules ,as they are very reasonably priced compared to the other brands .
I’m so sorry that you have had difficulties. Very best wishes .
I withdraw from the ampoules with 3 mL Luer-Lok Syringe with 25 gauge x 5/8" PrecisionGlide Detachable Needle - Box of 100, then I replace the shorter, possibly blunted needle with these:
I'm sure I read on forum that in parts of Canada, B12 ampoules can be bought over the counter. I'm in UK and don't know about rules about importing medicines but maybe you can get them from Canada?
I'm in the US, ordered B12 ampoules from apohealth.de. Attaching a photo of the order. They arrived within 4 days. I order 2 boxes of 100, including shipping that comes to about $1.30/ampoule. Of course a couple days after placing the order, my gp prescribed a bottle of hydroxocobalamin which I picked up at the pharmacy for $5.
I’m also in the US. You may find a lab that offers B12 injections without an Rx. I used that option when I was suffering while waiting on bloodwork to come back that my dr had ordered. I paid about $80 for a series of five hydroxo injections that could be administered as frequently as on a weekly basis. The lab I used is a business that offers different types of testing without doctor’s orders. Some other US posters have said that they have obtained B12 injections (not sure of form) from Patient First locations. I’m sorry that you’re in this position and I hope you get the help you need soon.
I'm in the US. I have also ordered hydroxo from amazon.de and I once was able to get mycare.de to ship to me. (Another time they told me they don't ship to the US, so it can help to wait a bit and try again if they say no.) I have also ordered cyano from Biosense Clinic in Canada (love them) and methyl from vitaminb12online.com. (vitaminb12online takes a looong time to get here from Saigon, though, but their methyl is from Japan and more temperature stable than most. They also have hydroxo but it has benzoates in it, so I prefer the Panpharma brand from Germany since I inject so frequently. The US hydroxo contains parabens, btw, so I also avoid it.) My trick is to order a lot at a time because I never know when I'm going to be able to get it again.
Thanks all! Regarding the injection needles, is the length a factor of body mass? I am extremely thin with very little mass. Should I use 25G x 5/8 vs 1in? Also, I am curious to know where everyone injects. (wedgewood, I see you said you inject in the thigh). The nurse told me that the only place to SI safely is the glute. This does not seem to be true. Can anyone share the pros and cons of different IM SI sites? I am so grateful for your advise. Best,
I can't speak to needle length in that regard, although I've never heard anyone suggest a shorter needle based on that, but I can share that I use a 25G x 1 for deltoid injections (which I have my partner do) and then I use between 25G and 27G, between 1/2 and 5/8 (all depending on what is available when I order needles) for SQ in my belly and lower back. I don't do thighs at all; I know many people prefer them but I always get bruises and lumps. If my partner isn't around to help, I exclusively do belly SQ, rotating around different spots.
