Why whenever I take Iron pill I feel better?

I have lots of muscle related symptoms along with blurry vision and double vision and numbness in hands. As soon as I started injection six months ago I learned if I go with keto diet and have mild exercise and taking proper supplements I can get better results. I was right just by doing so in one or two months my severe dizziness and burning feet gone but since I didn't taking iron pill all of my efforts reversed and I found I have intolerable extreme fatigue, severe muscle pain in those muscles already I had problem because severe neurological symptoms during B12 deficiency like my abdomen muscles which I feel like completely tormented and even those muscles that I didn't have problem like my trapezoidius muscles and thigh Magnus abductor muscle started to sore and show severe weakness and I couldn't even stand on my feet. Unfortunately I think BNF guideline needs to distinguish between people with extreme muscle neuropathy and people who don't have that. People with extreme muscle neuropathy should take iron pills since the first day of injection and start mild exercise and try mild keto diet and taking proper supplements lin order to shorten neuropathy period and be able to increase injection frequency. It seems in these kind if people feritin should not let to go below 35 mcg/L because after nerve repaired related muscle requires to get back it's myoglobin and Iron so it causes depletion of iron resources and iron not be a in abundant so causes affecting other muscles and depletion of muscles with high neuropathy symptoms. This happens to me and unfortunately symptoms of low Iron is so bad and not tolerable along with injection. I think most people with such a problem after injection their symptoms so badly execerbate and lots if people stop injection because of that. But after taking iron pill and correcting diet to absorb more iron and also taking B12 pills ( because B12 pills works in different way and energize muscles) most of those bad symptoms stop. This happend to me and I think feritin should be closely watched and don't let it to go below 35 mcg/L or 40 mcg/L and taking iron pills along with laxative for a while is necessary. Any comments?

Glad that you are finding what works for you. Must be a relief to feel the improvement!

I guess, we are all different in what our bodies need. My iron levels are not very high, but not below range, I have found it helpful to include more iron rich food, like raisins, in my diet. When the body is trying to repair itself, it takes a while to work out what it needs.

Exactly, I think since iron is in scarce in our body after injection of B12 our body tries to allocate iron to places are mostly needed may even relocate iron from other sources which are being used but not in priority. The most important priority goes to blood vessels. So blood vessels with impaired nerves after B12 injection vget repaired first and their related blood vessels' muscles should get back their myoglobin and iron so may some iron get fetched even from other muscles. That's why if we don't have enough iron in B12 injection causes execerbate muscles with high neuropathy. And taking iron is so important in order to stop new symptoms. I wish I knew this at the start of B12 injection. In the meantimeniw I have new symptoms which is related to low iron but in range that I had and sometimes completely paralyze me. Really I'm looking for a solution and I think missing puzzle peace is iron. Now I take naproxen Tylenol in order to pacify my new symptoms which include back muscle severe fatigue and pain and weakness along with my tormented abdomen muscles and thigh muscles. My double vision is also related to eye muscles which cause brain interpret double vision. But my blurry vision improved. I think I need more muscle strength in order to back to injection and mire iron. But for people like me guideline should be altered to suit my situation

I need to try this. A lot of symptoms are improving, but not the fatigue and weakness. I wonder if iron is the issue. It's the one thing that hasn't been checked - oddly enough! Thank you for bringing it up.

Another thought - both my Omega-3's, D3, and Manganese levels were low. I just started taking prescribed supplements for all & I began having a bit less pain. Wondering if those have a role in the weakness and am waiting to see if I get some strength back. I was also tested for ATP intracellular function - that was low also - meaning (in my non-medical terms) the cellular generation of energy wasn't happening. B12 is supposed to fix this over time. Hope this helps.

Methyl folate is the only source for methylation process so consider to take methyl folate too. I have not tried b1 allithiamine but is fat soluble form and is highly bioavailable Multivitamin some micronutrients are not bioavailable like magnesium, mangenese, iron and zinc due to presence of calcium so consider to take rich foods with these stuff like banana, sweet potato, Ginger. Multivitamin omega 3 is low and not pure and as well as it's D3, k2 which should be taken 4000 IU and 120 mcg. I think iron should be kept at least above 50 in order to help muscles to gain their lost iron and stoping iron deficiency related symptoms.
