No,no,no, I’ve been getting injections for years, but none now for 18mts, no benefit from tablets, wondered if body wasn’t absorbing b12! But thank you!

So you feel no difference with your injections stopping? Usually if on injections it'd because you cant absorb from Tablets .

Is that what you mean ,,? Unsure if absorbing ftom tablets?

If so get your injections back.

Mh mum says she gets no benefit really.

She does as thinks better .

Two days after habing hers whole larder out . Sorting and cleaning!

She's 92 next month and has mobility problems because of arthritis.

B12 definitely benefits her given by injection.

Do write to your Gp.

Not getting injections because of epidemic. Most surgerys are doing injections, but not mine!!!!!!! I think my intrinsic factor levels are low, but try getting them checked!!!!!! Thanks for the return.

You can ask your doctor to reinstate your injections . It is written in the amendment to the guidelines . You are not absorbing the vitamin B12 from tablets . You must get your injections ASAP . Your doctor is obliged to reinstate them . Tell him/her to consult the latest instructions on this matter , then you will get your injections back again .Best wishes .

Hi,

Have you thought about joining PAS and talking to them about what has happened?

PAS (Pernicious Anaemia Society)

Based in Wales, UK.

pernicious-anaemia-society....

There is a helpline number that PAS members can ring.

PAS website has lots of useful leaflets that some PAS members print out and pass to their GPs.

They have one about "Treatment changed – What can you do?"

Unhappy with Treatment (UK info)?

Letters avoid face to face confrontation with GP and allow patient time to express their concerns effectively.

Best to keep letters as brief, to the point and polite as possible. It's harder to ignore a letter in my opinion.

Keep copies of any letters sent or received.

Your CCG (Clinical Commisioning Group)or Health Board is likely to have it's own local guidelines on B12 deficiency treatment. May be helpful for you to track down the local guidelines for your area. The local guidelines may contain a statement about treatment during pandemic for your area.
