Ps so all come in glass tiles you have to break?

Yes , both in glass ampoules Both are excellent Hydroxocobalamin ( depot that is) . The difference is 1) Hevert comes as a 1mg x 2ml ampoule The Rotexmedica is a1mg x 1ml ampoule ( now selling under the name of Panpharma , who have taken over Rotexmedica ) 2) Hevert is usually more expensive than Panpharma .

I have used both , but I prefer Panpharma/Rotexmedica becuase there is less liquid to inject .

If you have difficulty in opening the glass ampoules , an ampoule opener is obtainable from Amazon smile.U.K. ( chose P.A.S. as your charity )

Exactly the same as me ! I also take a modest multi vitamin and mineral supplement , because many P.A. patients do not absorb them so well due to lack of stomach acid .

Will that be your very first B12 injection ? If so please have someone near /with you , in case of anaphylactic shock . This is so very rare , but one can’t be careful enough . No worries if you have had one already .

Yes my first , plan on loading does for two weeks then see how it goes , but thanks 👍 there will be someone else around. Haven't posted for a few days as raging at Dr telling me impossible you don't have b12 deficiency as you don't have megablast cell you just have errosive gastritis and shouldn't ' read online information' ,asked why horrid symptoms died down after 16 months and then starting supplements and no 'plecebo effect '. Then told me to go gluten and lactose free to se if that helped symptoms, I then asked how do I go about that and he told me to 'look it up online'🤣🤪😵😵😵, it's ridiculous. Couldn't write it lol. Thanks for your help.

In other words doctors are really telling you to experiment........ and if you get it wrong they will probably say..... why did you experiment. No win situation. Unless I misinterpreted what is on the nhs website it states you can have b12 deficiency without megablast cells.

😱

Your GP should be going online to read the guidelines . We have to go online so that we can treat our P.A. and keep well .Anyhow , you know that you can come to no harm injecting B12 .

If this is your first injection of vitamin B12 it will need to be done in a location where you have immediate access to medical assistance. This is because of the risk of an anaphylactic reaction, which can require immediate resuscitation measures, including CPR and intubation, if required.

Unfortunately, ‘having someone around’ will not be sufficient if you suffer from anaphylactic shock, which is a critical medical emergency that requires immediate medical intervention.

Awww dont scare......its a very very rare occurance. So whilst I agree you need to be aware and careful.....its also extremely unlikely to happen. I guess you could sit in the toilet of the GP surgery and self inject the 1st time.....then they will all be on hand to rush to your aid....not!!! You could buy an epi-pen just incase but this does seem an extreme step.....

It’s a safeguarding issue waveylines . Yes, it’s rare but it does happen (I’ve seen it). And not to advise would be remiss. Especially in view of the new online harm regulations!

Unfortunately ‘not likely to happen’ falls a bit short - if you’re the person it happens to.

So, it’s not about ‘scaring’ people. It’s about keeping people safe, and it’s advice that should be given to anybody who is injecting vitamin B12.

I dont disagree agree Foggyme....in that case why do GPs not bother with this protocol....mine never did. Allowed me to self inject on my own..... and never even warned me!

Sometimes there's just no accounting for some GP's 🙄🤷‍♀️😬…

Shame that we can’t clone the good ones, over and over and over…🙂x

I tried to tell Dr exactly that especially with e gastritis diag, sallyann, that's when he told me not to read online info. And yeah they just trying to wash hands of all responsibility and have been doing it in my case for 16 m since given antibs that made probs I was having even worse. Hopefully these b12 inj and supps and diet will help.😄👍

I am so so sorry to hear this. Its sooooo hard these days.....and you are doing the right thing by becoming knowledgeable of your condition......no one should have to self medicate but many of us are forced down this route or suffer further declining health.
