Stomach pain with co-factors

Morning, good 🙄

I cannot believe we have to go through this without proper medical support 😣

I am trying to get the necessary co-factors in, Folate, Vit D (potassium via food etc) but the stomach pain they cause is agony. I tried all Folate versions, the last being mthf in drop form, and Vit D I Had been taking before this B12/PA all kicked off, but stopped when GP said level of 40 was fine!

I have low stomach acid and diagnosis of gastritis on several occasions (which is what This pain feels like) also duodenal ulcers a couple of times.

Have resorted to private phone call with my previous good gastro doc down south, but he's on hols until next week and I am desperate to get on track to proper healing. I was in so much stomach pain that I took nothing yesterday, not even B12 jab, and I woke up this morning drained of energy again, despite 8hr sleep. So the daily Jabs are obviously needed at the moment, but I understand my other levels will deplete if I don't get a regular protocol in place. But if I have trouble absorbing anything I really don't know what to do. So hard to keep positive and searching for answers when the jigsaw pieces to do so won't fit together.

I think you are wises to strip it all back .

If recent bloods say folate okay just eat as healthily as you csn

Thr main thing to reduce pain and inflammation.

You only need supplements if you are deficient. Tgen perhaos a maintenence dose. Basic multivit ?

At least you csn get advice in a week or Gp to help with symptoms if needed.

Try and sit in the sun 🌞 whilst we have it arms bare and as much torso as possible.

Vit D.

Hope you feeling a bit better soon.

How was your low stomach acid diagnosed? Was it via a serum gastrin test or by other tests?

I had a great gastro consultant down south who did endoscopy looking for h pylori & coeliacs; found duodenal ulcers & low acid, no h pylori. 😘

I get that an endoscopy would see an ulcer- did the consultant infer low stomach acid from that or did they take a sample of stomach acid and analyse that?

Have you had a serum gastrin test (high serum gastrin indicates low stomach acid) or a 24 hr pH monitoring test which appear to be the main way that low stomach acid is diagnosed?

Not what you're looking for?
