Reaction to loading injections

Hi. I had very low b12, 50, and must have had low for about 25 years as I’d had a lot of symptoms, especially when I was “run down” such as fatigue, sore tongue, low mood, cold symptoms. I have been on stomach acid reducing tablets for about that time and only just been tested for b12.

I had the loading injections and felt a lot better, more energetic and breathing better, but about 3 weeks after the injections I started to get all the symptoms back: bad cold, tongue sore, very, very lethargic, depressed, and this lasted nearly 4 weeks (before it used to last a couple of days and go with a lot of sleep). Doctor couldn’t see it was related to the injections but it’s too much of a coincidence to me. I am now feeling a lot better and got my new “bounce” back.

Has anyone else had a reaction to their loading injections like that?

So the loadng doses helped you.Usually after 3 weeks if the symptoms back you need injections every few weeks

What gave you your 'bounce back?

Was it another b12 injections as not clear.

Yiuf medication probably reduced yiur b12

Yes it was my medication that reduce it. My bounce just came back without any further B12, once my body had recovered from all the symptoms. Dr has put me down for 12 week injections so next one in August. I was thinking my body had reacted to going from 50 to high after being low for so long, wondering if anyone else had experienced this

Oh yes it will have reacted. Woken up so many nerves. Marvelous to have such a good quick outcome.

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand the situation. Did your symptoms resolve with another B12 injection? Or did they go without further treatment?

Went without treatment

Your b12 level of 50 was extremely low to have recovered from so quickly unless it was your active b12 that was tested. I pleased that you feel well.
