B12 injections and now experiencing acne

Hi I had 3 b12 shots in February, a week and Half apart within that month. The month after I broke out really bad. Under my chin and on my cheek and got one behind my ear- this is very unusual and I knew these spots weren't normal pimples. They were sore inflamed red cysts under the skin. They went and then came back the next few weeks.I've stopped takin my injections and I'm always cautious what I put in my body I'm just so upset with myself I didn't do more research before taking the injection. Has anyone experienced anything similar and how long did it take before it stops? Or does it never go away? What can I do? Any recommendations?

Feelin quite down and it taking a toll on me.

Yes I had them. Can happen to alot of people A known reaction. I rarely get them now

At the time the least of my worries..

Treat it as yoh know its working.

It's just waking uk bacteria in your skin.

Just keep them dry.

Do not aqueeze them. They will subside

Don't stop your treatment of b12 if yih unwell . I'm also careful what I take

At the moment weekly b12 injections but that is all.

Yes - just like Nackapan , I had these spots at first after injections, worst ones were inside my ears, and after a while, they just went. Very rarely get them now, and always after I've been a bit depleted - so see them as a good sign that I'm on the up again. But that's easy to say when you're my age (62)- no doubt if I was a lot younger, it would have bothered me more. But it's all relative -and I still would've preferred injections and spots to having B12 deficiency symptoms !

Hope they go soon.

I had that too. I gave up B12 injections a year ago and have my B12 levels tested every three months. I’ve never been convinced that I have PA but I’m not sure I if I made the right decision. So far B12 blood levels are within normal range

How long did it take for the pimples to go away after you stopped the injection? Did u have 3 injections in a month? Thankyou for letting me

Know your experience

I was only being injected once every three months and got the acne immediately after each injection. So acne stopped immediately after my last injection and bout of acne. As I said, I don't know if I have done the right thing but the acne was leaving scars on my face. I was fine for quite a few years after starting the B12 treatment but then the acne started. Good luck

I had the acne too. I hated it - sore and unsightly. Lasted throughout the loading injections, sometime afterwards- can’t remember when and got a few more after first injection afterwards. I don’t get them now. At time it was thought to be homocysteine being released and advice was to wash face gently. I found Elemis face capsule things helpful- the green (night) pink (day) ones. I’d forgotten about those, it was a few years ago now.

Now I wonder if the B12 is causing a detox reaction (poss the hcy) and where liver is overloaded it comes out through skin (this is case generally). I would try liver support like milk thistle (Carduus marianus) and burdock (Arctium lappa).

That happened to me too, and was very persistent. The good news: until this post reminded me I had completely forgotten about it, it did go away eventually after more than 1 year.

I suffered from spots too every time i got a shoot until I discovered "The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum" from boots which is amazing and I rarely get them now and if I get one or two they clear up much quicker.
