A question about ampoules

These ampoules that you can buy from Germany are they complete within themselves? I mean do they intrinsically have a way to inject or do you have to buy insulin syringes? Do you need a particular kind of syringe and where can you get them? Thanks

You need to buy syringes and needles.

Rather than 1 mL insulin syringes, 2 mL syringes are better. medisave.co.uk/bd-emerald-h...

I use a special ampoule snapper - amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01...

You'll want to use a different needle to suck the liquid out of the vial, otherwise the point gets blunt on the glass - OW!

I use a green (wide bore) needle to suck it up medisave.co.uk/b-d-microlan...

Then I switch needles to a violet (narrow-bore) for the injection medisave.co.uk/terumo-agani...

The green(wide bore) needle for sucking up....Can that be reused? The violet (narrow bore) I guess you need a new one for each injection? This can get kinda expensive for me since I need to inject daily. Can either one or both be sterilized and reused? I have the ampoules and the ampoule snapper is on the way. Just need the needles & syringes now. I got into an actual yelling back and forth argument with the doctor I was seeing yesterday about her refusal to even show curiosity about new information coming out on failure of blood tests to diagnose B12 deficiency in many cases. It was very demoralizing. I had my book with me by Martyn Hooper, 'WhatYou Need to Know About Pernicious Anaemia & Vitamin B12 Deficiency. Hopeless. She was yelling about litigation and B12 toxicity. In the USA whenever you go to a doctor or a hospital you have to sign a waiver of litigation. I mean you actually have to sign a form saying you won't sue no matter what. So I was yelling back at her, What litigation? You are in no danger of litigation. I signed a form saying I wouldn't sue. When I asked the office worker to give me that form I signed so I could look at it the Doctor rushed in the forbade her to let me see it. It was gruesome just gruesome

Needles are so cheap (less than 5p each) that I consider them disposable.

Hi there, I've just ordered some of what you've suggested, but currently they are out of stock of needles. Can you suggest another site?

May I ask how you got on, and what worked best for you?

30g 1/2 inch by far the best for me as I am only 11 stone with not too much meat on my thighs.

Sadly I'm the opposite. I've very overweight and so I'm not sure how long my needles will need to be. By the way, where do you get your B12 from nowadays?

Well to me I have tried both Sub Q and IM and there is zero difference in the effects. They both work as well as each other so I would guess that any needle will work from 1/2 inch to 1.5 inches..... 23g or 25g thickness. Its not something to stress over as long as it gets into your body it WILL work. It's just a matter of preference but I do use blunt fill needles 18g 1.5 inch to draw the B12 fluid into the syringe then replace that needle with my 1/2 injecting needle. This ensures that your injecting needle is nice and sharp. I got my B12 from bodfeld and mycare in germany before all the hassle.
