Hi, for the last year or so I’ve had more and more difficulty breathing. It’s got to a point where some parts of the day I’m literally breathless like I’ve been walking up 5 flights of stairs.
My garmin watch has a pulse ox reading, and have noticed my average is 93%.
I realise this might be due to my pernicious anemia diagnosis, but feel like it should have improved now that I’ve just had 6 b12 injections in the last 3 weeks.
Anyone have similar to this? Have you managed to fix the problem?
It may be worth double checking with a fingertip monitor. I have a Garmin Vivoactive and have noticed that it is regularly 2 or 3 % lower than the finger monitor.
As I understand it, now that your B12 levels are improved, it will take up to 3 months for your body to replace the misshapen and inefficient blood cells with ones that are the correct size and shape which can carry optimal amounts of oxygen.
I use a wearable pulse oximeter from wellue. Pretty sensitive. I use it overnight only, as I’m aware it is when the body’s oxygen saturation is naturally lower.
I have used the wearable finger one too, and most of the time comes back at 92-93%.What were your readings of it, was you guys struggling to breath. I’m finding I need to take deep long breaths even just sitting down
Hidden - the measurements fluctuate. I find the first few nights after an injection they are in the normal range. Then I usually have a night below normal, with some periods below 85%, then it rebounds beck to close to normal. I’m injecting weekly at present. Only just started 2 weeks ago. I’ve been wearing the ring for some time so I’ve got good baseline / pre injection figures for comparison. Injecting has made a huge difference.
My heart rate prior to B12 injections was consistently 100. Following B12 injections, it is around 70-80. It takes time to recover from low B12. I am not sure how long it took for my heart rate to drop. Good luck in your recovery!
