PA and hiatal hernia

I was diagnosed with PA on my first antibody test 3 years ago. It was good because I was getting ruled out for everything from MS to a brain tumor. I self inject b-12. I was overdue for a colonoscopy and endoscopy was advised since I would already be prepped. She did see a hiatal hernia which I was pretty sure I had but she also said I did have acid production in my stomach. I have to regularly take a proton pump inhibitor to keep the symptoms of the hernia away and to eat ok. I hate the thought of taking omeprazole for life and not to mention how it decreases b-12 absorption, if I have any at all. Anyone have thoughts on this combo of problems? Acid production with PA? Hernia surgery? I’m 49 years old and in very good physical shape and weight.

If you're injecting B12 then you do not need to worry about B12 absorption being affected.

Hiatus hernia is common, 60% of men over 50 have one. Most of us live with it.
