Week one of weekly shots not lasting?

Tomorrow makes one week since I took my first weekly shot. I was also told to take 1000 by mouth. Within hours the pain in my muscles and joints subsided immensely. That night I couldn't sleep, but when I did fall asleep I dropped from 16 hours of sleep to 10. Still excessive but improved.

I rather enjoyed the energy burst. Was able to put an hour into house cleaning. My apartment looks like an episode of hoarders because I've been so exhausted.

2 days ago the aches started coming back. Yesterday the fatigue kicked in again. I took my shot a day early and still slept all day, though 4 hours later finally woke enough to do some work around the apartment.

Doc ordered weekly shots for 4 weeks then monthly. Should I wait out the month then call the doc or should I ask about taking shots more frequently? My B12 level was 174 when diagnosed.

I feel incredibly useless and the mess in my apartment is stressing me out, but I can't find the energy to even feed myself most days.

J think you've answered your own question. You need regular injections

If any neurological symptoms in the UK yoh get alternate days for 2 weeks as a loading dose. 6 over 2 weeks.

Then to be continued until no more improvement.

If you having cynocobalamin the protocol does seem to be monthly for maintenance. .

Some people need more.

Go by your symptoms.

Also get your folate . Iron vit d ferritin thyroid tested .

Symptoms overlap.

Did you aksi gave the intrinsic factor antybody test? Gives 50% of thises with PA a positive result.

I do have low D. Product of working nights. Folate and IF have not been tested though. July they did BMP, CBC with diff, recent TSA and B12. Summer labs showed all borderline norms except my WBC and differentials. I was fighting an infection though.

I am supposed to get more labs in 3 months.

Yesterday's B12 shot gave a short Hirst of energy in the evening but I'm already drained.

If this is drug induced, can long term use of M PPIs and H2 blockers cause permanent deficiencies? I also have IBS, so I guess Im asking if PA is always a matter of not caused by anything else ir can it actually be caused by the very things that make one deficient.

Good news is that IBS can improve when B12 is being supplemented sufficient. My IBS worsened before getting im injections, I could no longer tolerate gluten, but now my IBS is the best in years. I selfinject, started with every other day, now I do twice a week.

Week two lasted about 3 days with pain reduction again. It's not helping my fatigue much, but I will inject every day to get rid of this pain if allowed.

Just got into a fender bender. The muscle aches were already returning. Now I'm sore everywhere again. I'm not hurt. I wasn't going fast enough to cause injury. Just bumped my knee but tensing everything exacerbated my pain. Blah.

Sent a message to my Dr. He is out of the office currently so I don't know when he will get back to me.
