Sorry to hear you are suffering so. In the beginning, about 3 years ago, I was actually injecting up to twice a day. Did that for several months then backed down to once a day for nearly a year and now I average every other day. When the symptoms are getting worse, I go back to daily. (I have a demyelinating disorder with varying degrees of neuro symptoms depending on where I am at the time.) Hope you find much needed relief!

I have PA as well as several other autoimmune issues. Neuro issues include peripheral neuropathy, seizures, extreme fatigue, anxiety and other lesser issues. Can't say anything got worse for me, in fact, it stopped the symptoms from getting worse and some have even gotten a bit better. Yes, my GP knows what I am doing, I was quite honest once I knew what I was up against and even provided the NICE guidelines even though I am in the USA. Most medical professionals are woefully ignorant regarding PA/B12d. I have taken as much info from the PAS that I could and passed it along to my GP. Even if she did not support my approach, I would have done exactly the same thing. It is my health and I know better than anyone how these things work/don't work for me.

I don't tolerate most multi-vitamins and the only one that I can tolerate well enough is a liposomal formula from Quicksilver Scientific called Liposomal Ultra Vitamin.

In the USA how do you get your B12? Does your doctor prescribe that much B12? Thanks!

AmbersMom profile image

She was willing to prescribe that much through a compounding pharmacy but I could not afford that and the multi-use vials here in the US have parabens and other nasties so I have opted to order hydroxocobalamin single use vials from Amazon.de (Germany):amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B...

You can click on the flag next to the search bar and pick your language.

Have ordered from them a couple of times now, takes about a month, give or take, as US customs can be slow.

Others opt to purchase single use vials of cyanocobalamin from Canadian pharmacies but my preference is for the hydroxocobalamin as it is preferred for some of the other issues that I am battling.

Yes, I injected twice daily like another person mentioned in this thread- cyanicobalamin. I’m in the USA . I did this for a couple months and now doing daily . Tried to decrease it to 2-3 times a week but symptoms would reappear. So doing daily now. I’ve been diagnosed now for 9 months with many neurological symptoms, so still healing.

I’m pretty new but I injected daily for 3 weeks and a week ago I went to 3 times a week. In a few weeks I’ll try to go to twice a week.

What was your b12 level before you started ? Mine was 124 low

I need to pace it more and do twice a week or weekly 3 in a row less than 24 hours on the 3rd one was to much fir me

My B12 has always been high as I have Lyme and don’t absorb and I’m also a gastric bypass patient.

High as in what reading x

I think the last time we ran, it was about 4000. Again it's not a true reading as I have malabsorption hence me needing to inject the rest of my life.
