I am reading a lot about potassium levels depleting with B12 injections. I have tried to space out injections but can not, at this moment in time, get by on any less than daily. So my question is:- Will this level of Daily SI of 1ml hydroxy as well as 1000mcg methylfolate deplete potassium levels even if you are managing to get in about 4700mg of potassium daily or less from food? And do you have any ideas as to how long it can take to build up levels again?
Thank you all so much for this forum and yes......... I was pawned off as CFS/ME/Fibromyalgia..... so predictable unfortunately.

I've read pottasium depletes when you csn have megalocytosis and loafibg doses of b12 commence. and once thst is corrected with enough b12 levrks should be okay.
As you are eating potassium rich foods it shoujdnt be a problem.
Only way to tell is ftom a blood test and or symptoms.
I know it very unwise to take a supplement as electrolytes vital to stay balanced
As Nackapan says, it is correction of macrocytosis that actually leads to potential drops in potassium. If you don't have macrocytosis - anaemia in which red blood cells are larger and rounder than normal - then there should be no affect on your potassium levels.Standards recommend monitoring potassium levels during loading doses where macrocytosis has been caused by the B12 deficiency, but I've never come across that in practice.
