B12 folic acid or folate

So I’m not any better

Was in hospital last week nearly collapsed can’t find nothing wrong so

I’m assuming it’s my b12

Monthly at Gp

But I get sick every couple days weak nausea jelly legs jelly arm burning tingeling legs hands

So unwell

Can’t even eat no more

Help anyone

So doing dsily b22 SI myself nothing is changing

I’m awaking in night with severe nauseous and have a hot water bottle

Tummy feels hunger but can’t eat

Also tryed folic acid sling side b12 no change

Any ideas I’m really sick like death

Hospital said my level was high but it would b

Cause the b12

Any one experience this vile thing it’s not going

And I’m struggling So much

Barely able to do nothing bed bound mostly

I’m 54

June 124 b12 low

2 weeks loading at Gp thn monthly

I’m so sick really sick

Lost loads of weight to

Am I doing wrong ?

What am I missing

All levels like vit d iron folate ate In range

I can’t cope no more I really can’t

Is it frequent b12 making me so sick ?

Is it over doing it ?

I have tryed alternate to nothing changed

I feel some thing isn’t right ?

Folic ?

Am on 400 ug a day ?

Some say it’s not enough ?

Some say 400 800 1600

5mg ?

I’m so confused it’s effecting my daily life and mental health

I really can’t live no more

Any thought s or advice

I’ve done everything I can

I’m exhausted

Ear ringing

Weight loss

Hunger no appetite

Jelly legs

Jelly arms

Pins needkes hands mainly

Loose Bowel or constipated it changes

Nausea is the worst right now

Palpitations odd turns through day

Yes all normal

Intrinsic normal

Parental cell normal

Hpylori abnormal was treated now gone

I’m in a right mess here

No sleep either

Have contacted pa society thy said I dint need folic acid

But with it without I’m no different

I’ve got so bad

Tou dont need any more than 200-400 folic acid daily unless prescribed by your doctor.

A multivit should be safe instead if tiu chises just donr over supplement as csn mahe you worse if not a known deficiency.

I'm 2 years in now and have not had a symptom free day. I plod on with b12 injections .

When I have a very bad day I realised I used to be like that every day. If nothing else found keeo going with tour b12 and keep notes.

Keep going back to Gp incass they have missed something.

Iron levels?

Magnesium

Ferritin vit d has all this been tested.

Your doctor had a duty of care .

Its really bad we dont get the guidance or proper treatment plan.

You know you cant overdose on b12 . Try and stick yo the same frequency for a while to see

GP normal or normal for you? My TSH was done as part of a well woman check at 50 and was 1.12. This year was 1.99. Both in range, But this year I was unwell, in 2012 I wasn't. So around 1 is good for me. Around 2 isn't.

Can you explain more. Are you self-medicating with your thyroid now? Did you have other thyroid numbers checked as well ie. antibodies? Don't know what questions to ask you, I am very curious about your thoughts on this issue.

Yes self medicating - I'm normal as far as my GP is concerned! Funds were limited so just did bloods via GP as far as possible and then supplemented with basic thyroid tests privately.

Try methylfate instead of folic acid / if you have a gene mfthr folic acid will be no good for you..

Also do you have gut problems ? My b13 goes down due to my gut I have to do a low fodmap diet no gluten or dairy .. if I eat these foods the bacteria in my gut gobble up my b12

So try gluten and dairy free also low fodmap if you can .. but just focuse on gluten and dairy free

U can order folate n Amazon if your guys bad folate doesn’t need converting In Your gut .. xx
