Cyanocobalamin for injections is just as good as methylcobalamin, if not better. It is cheaper, easier to obtain and more stable. Methylcobalamin has been known to cause adverse reactions in some people.

When any form of B12 enters the cell it is immediately converted to cob(II)alamin. From that point on all forms are equal.

Unfortunately Flinder if you are in the UK the NHS has stopped cyanocobamalin (Cytamen) - which is my preferred form - from being prescribed as injectable B12. However I believe that the sublinguals are cyanocobamalin.

Hydroxocobamalin is "reputed" to be longer lasting in the blood stream but I had an adverse effect to it when it was introduced generally in the 1980s.

I wish you well from the U.K. and bid you goodnight.

Sorry I was asking about the effectiveness of the tablets.

There should be little, to no, difference.

People do respond very differently to different forms of B12 - some find they make no difference - some find that methyl makes them feel unwell - at least one member on this forum found that hydroxo made them feel unwell. The only way of knowing how you are going to react is to actually try them yourself
