I dont think so.

They just reduce acid so malabsorption of b12 and other vitamins takes place.

ok thanks just wondered as when my daughter was younger she was given these for persistent cough, i often wondered if they were to blame

P.P.I.s can cause Vitamin B12 deficiency, ( stomach acid is annihilated ) but not Pernicious Anaemia . But of course the symptoms are the same .

Don't, sbadd - who knew ? You had no choice but to trust medical professional guidance when your child was ill.

I was "allergic to the sun" as a youngster - so spent holidays on the beach smothered head to foot in steroid cream, even on cloudy days.

Just the way things were then.
