Methyl cobalamin side effects.

Any experience with methyl cobalamin side effects?

I start to notice I'm starting to get restless, minor anxious and agitation after an injection of methyl cobalamin. It's been like this for a while, but thought it's because of the damage of being deficient. I notice increase in these "stress" symptoms a day after injections and lesser with time after that. Once I didn't inject for a week and felt like the restlessness was not existent anymore.

I think I'm gonna give hydroxocobalamin a try and see if I'm less agitated after an injection.

I take three 1000ug injections a week and think I'm quite overdosed on B12. Still I think it doesn't do any harm, because people with cyanide poisoning or something get a dose of 200.000ug. Still maybe it's the mix or just sensitive to the methyl. I've read similar experiences and hydroxocobalamin having a smaller side effect profile.

Just scared to have the gene mutation and I might go back to being deficient. The restlessness is quite annoying at times. I didn't had any testing done by doctors, just a hydroxocobalamin prescription. I have a large supply of methyl cobalamin out of Japan, because I'm self diagnosed and treat myself. Doctors misdiagnosed symptoms for ten years to "it all being in my head". So no lab results, don't know if I have the mutation or what exactly is wrong with me malabsorbing the B12.

Any ideas?

Yup. I had exactly the same response to methylcobalamin injections. So bad that I only ever did it once. I am totally fine with hydroxocobalamin twice a week, and cyanocobalamin on odd occasions. And we are not alone. Several other people have reported the exact same response.

I would definitely recommend switching to hydroxocobalamin or cyanocobalamin, rather than continuing with those side effects.

I tried methyl B12 liquid twice and each time I became extremely anxious. I felt unsettled and had trouble sleeping that night. Fortunately the side effects only lasted 24 hours. I'll never take any form of methyl B12 again.

Yes I had that and same with cyanocobalmin. I don’t seem to have that problem with the hydroxocobalmin
