Hydroxocobalmin in US

So I went to a new doctor today who is willing to give me a prescription for hydroxocobalmin injections but we can’t find any pharmacy that carries it! They all only carry cyanocobalmin! I can’t take it I have a horrible reaction to it. I am in fear if I can’t find it soon. My b12 went from 126 only to 266 on 2,000 mcg capsules of Hydroxocobalamin. I am having weird pressure lightheadness at base of skull and leg tingling. What do I do?

If you csn4 tolerate cynocobalamin surek5 thr pharmacist can order in what you need.

I'm in the UK. I was told this by the pharmacist that didnt have in stock what I needed. They just needed a prescription to then source it.

I have added US to the title so may be picked up by US members overnight.

As fbirder says - can be quite difficult to get in the US and Canada.

Hydroxocobalamin is rare in the USA. Have you tried methylcobalamin?

However, methylcobalamin is much more prone to nasty effects than cyanocobalamin, which is very safe.

Like you, I am in the US. I order my supply of hydroxocobalamin from Bodfeld in Germany. I have had it take anywhere from 7 to 30 days to arrive. The product, itself, is affordable, the shipping is quite expensive: bodfeld-apotheke.de/product.... I require every other day injections so I order in bulk but there are also single box options as well.

There is a drop down menu at the top of the page allowing for translation to English.

I order these because they are single use vials without any nasty preservatives found in the multi use vials sold by most pharmacies here in the US.

I have also ordered from Amazon.de, if you click on the flag to the right of the search bar, you can choose to view the website in English. Prices there vary and I have had my orders take anywhere from 14 to 30 days to arrive. Please use the terms "B12 depot" and "rotexmedica" in your search, this will help to narrow down the list to the most appropriate items.

I have always ordered without a prescription without any problem. My practitioner is well aware of what I am doing. She had me on methylcobalamin from a compounding pharmacy which was costing $100 for 10 doses of 1000mcg. Ordering the hyroxocobalamin from Germany was the only way I could afford to dose as often as required without purchasing the multi use vials from a traditional US pharmacy.

I hope that you are able to source what you need quickly.

Have you or your doctor tried to get hydroxycobalmin through a compounding pharmacist? I have gotten methycobalmin with no problem this way. I live in the US.

We have not! He did find a website to order it from and we are going to try that. But thanks! That’s something to keep in the back of my mind!
