SI supplies for Aussie

I can’t work out how to search just this group, so I hope you don’t mind me asking.

I am in Australia and am wondering about sourcing B12 for SI.

I also seem to remember finding an online supplier in Israel (?) that seemed very comprehensive. They supplied it in powdered form. But now I can’t find it again.

Yes , you can get powdered B12 Methylcobalamin from an Israeli company . But they get it from Oxford Biosciences in U.K. ! oxfordbiosciences .com for which you need saline solution , only obtainable on prescription in U.K. There is always a possibility of contamination with this .

You are best off with single use B12 ampoules . I thought that B12 ampoules were obtainable over the counter in Australia . ?

But you can buy Neo-B12 injection ampoules ( Hydroxocobalamin B12 , as is used in NHS) from —-

yourdiscountchemist.com.au or chemistwarehouse.com.au

$6.95 for 3 ampoules 1mg x 1ml. from discount chemist , or $7.99 from warehouse .

I see that it says “ for intramuscular use only” , but you can use it for sub-cutaneous injections also , with good success .

Thank you. I just assumed it wouldn’t be over the counter here and didn’t even check. Silly me!

I have found that Cobal B12 (as acetate in acetic acid) appears to work better than hydroxo B12 (as chloride in hydrochloric acid). Somewhere I have an article in which the authors state that acetic acid seems to preserve the B12 best. Sorry, but I can't find it now.

Hydroxo B12 as chloride seems to sting a lot less than Cobal B12 as acetate, but the Cobal B12 definitely works better for me. The review on the yourdiscountchemist website dated 6th Apr 2021 supports my experience. yourdiscountchemist.com.au/...

Your local pharmacy should be able to order Cobal B12 for next day delivery if they don't have it in stock.

I break out with a horrible rash of I use the hydrochloric based one.

Neo B12 and Cobal are the same thing made by the same company Pfizer .

Thank you for that. I had not heard of Cobal B12 as acetate.

yep any chemist should have them , shop around as you should be able to get Cobal for under $6.00 a box. The chemists here also often price match.

my son is travelling in Australia at the moment, he has sent me over quite a few vials, that he purchased over the counter from different pharmacies. No problem with customs, everything thing declared.

I did a trial of powdered B12 Methylcobalamin from an Israeli company . For 120 days 2+- years ago and experienced improvement. When did a trial of Hydroxocobalamin the improvement was much much move dramatic.

We need to remember that we are all different . It really pays to try different cobalamins to find one that suits best , as you have found .

So true. I go with there is likely a treatment for me, it is not known what that treatment is. I accept it has taken me years of searching. I do not accept it has to take years only that it does with current understanding. I will accept permanent damage only after exhausting the possibilities it is not permanent. Pretty much no one is competent to determine I have healed as much as I possibility can only that I have healed to the degree and with the speed they accept for me.

At one time in history if you had PA you would be confidently told it is fatal. The confidence is the constant.

I do still like hearing what people have tried and works for them, then I can try for myself and see.

I have gained much from what others have shared. One huge thing for me was that some people inject more than 1 mg every other day. I was doing that as I felt it was needed. Helpful to know I was not the only one that was doing that.

I’m also in Australia. I understand the frustration of searching for a quality B12. I also get my Methyl B12 from Israel. The company that makes this is in the United Kingdom. The website is called PerniciousAnemia.Org, where you can order monthly as a continuous subscription. This has been my lifesaver and have been very happy with all the instructions given on their website. There’s no problem with customs as it is in powdered form and is a supplement.

best of luck with the process.

If you buy the powdered Methylcobalamin direct from oxfordbiosciences.com, you pay £32.00 for the 40mg vial instead of $129.00 ( £104.00)

I'm in the US and this is where I get mine:

apotheke-marienbrunn.de/

so they might ship to Australia. It's cyano but does well for me. I inject daily.

I buy the 2mg / 1ml single use vials.
