I have been supplementing B12 and folate since March. Wondering if I could do test yo find out where my levels are? Would an active b12/folate and MMA be best even though I have been supplementing? Thanks

You can test, yes.

If you can absorb oral B12 then your levels will be very high. If you cannot, they will not.

As you're looking for 'sky high' or 'not sky high' then the ordinary serum B12 test will be sufficient.

What are you trying to find out from the testing?

To see where i am currently. My Hcy test was “15” in March via viapath but unable to redo that test as cant get phlebotomist. My b12 was round 550 and folate 4.7. Hadnt supplemented after Oct-Mar. Prior to thst I was and had an injection (August) level was 1000s in October. Just feeling exhausted, low BP, nausea, sleep disturbance, tinnitus, internal vibration, pain, breathless etc and have lost weight. Spending most of my days horizontal. I have been diagnosed with Gastritis. Have Parietal Cell antibodies but not IF. I’m also heterozygous gene for TCN11.

If you are absorbing it yes it will show on your bloods. It depends in what you want to achieve

If you e had a blood test off supplements and now have a test it will show if you absorbing.

Main thing is to go by your symptoms.

Not sure it matters what test for your levels.

Depends on what you will be comparing it too.

If you are comparing . Do the same tests

I wiuld like to redo viapath bit cant get phlebotomist hence why thought could go with medichecks. As Fbiders said if i am absorbing then result shoild be mire than in march if not well i have answer. Though wondering whether to fo MMA/active B12 & folate. The viapath had all these markers in one test and is cheaper than Medichecks
