I just phoned up for my blood results and they said everything is normal. b12 and folate levels normal. I’ve requested a call back from the doctor cause I’m still feeling awful, still got the tingles, feel sick, exhausted, burning thighs and other symptoms.
I’m so scared what on earth is happening to me? I did take a high dose B12 supplement for a few days before the blood test. What if this had skewed the results?

He said my TSH was slightly elevated and thinks it’s viral. I mentioned the loss of my sense of taste so he wants me to get a test for Covid.
My B12 levels were actually in the 500s and folate was also good think he said 12. He thinks it’s a mixture of viral and stress and anxiety and if the symptoms don’t resolve in two weeks to ring back.
Ask the doctor what he means by normal. Does he mean "It's right at the bottom of the range, but just inside it" or "It's well in the middle of the range". The former means you may well have a B12 deficiency, the latter means you almost certainly don't.
The only way taking a supplement could make any difference is if you do not have an absorption problem. Then you will have absorbed some of the B12 and it will have raised your blood levels. That would be great news, you just have to keep taking the supplements, ot change your diet so that you consume more B12.
I think the oral b12 may have skewed the results, you should mention that to your gp for sure and request another test making sure you havent had b12 for a while - ask your gp hpw long. Maybe somebody here knows.
You can have b12 in your blood that is not functioning.
After six months of treatment I was asked to take another test which came back in range so I was told to stop treatment. I was back at square one in no time.
