I use 30G . I'm sure you will find an improvement with 29G

27-30G 1/2" or 5/8" " thick

I looked it up and also went by size used by diabetics.

31G used in insulin pens. But usually less fluid.

I asked at my surgery Gp didnt know and nurses said as not licensed unwilling to say

Originally Gp said nurses can do sc on me . But they not covered to do it.

its what you feel comfortable with-the thinner needles don't seem to sting as much-maybe psychological?

yes I started on insulin a few weeks ago and like the thinner needle(31g),the 29g is a pretty pink colour,I was looking at 30g(yellow) and it just came down to colour, daftI know!!

ordinary needles go up to 30g which is the thinnest gauge,31g is for insulin pens ,a very different type of needle ,29g is slightly thicker than 30 but not much in it,I found it quite comfortable

The highet the number the thinner the needle . With IM as longer do not go too thin as possible to break.
